Yes, yes he did. I kinda expect the Dodgers to go for A-Rod since they seem to be eating up everyone's contracts. With his no trade clause he's gotta want to go to LA. He's coming to Miami, or staying in New York. I can't see him wanting to play across the country to play out his final years. I did not say the pitcher's were worse, I said maybe the National League style of play may get him back to where he needs to be, then gave the stats. lol I don't understand what the National League style of play has to do with it then. Seems like a rather irrelevant point. NL style of play to me is, more steal, more bunts, more sacrifices and trying to get the runner over, and more attempts to work the count and just get on base. A bit less selfish then what AL managers try to do, which is get the guy on and swing away and not sacrifice the batter because his bat is too valuable to just give up. More playing for a 3-2 win rather then a 6-5 one. That's why I think Ozzie had a difficult time adjusting this year. I'm sure Youk would fit in with the Jewish communities here and wouldn't mind sacrificing. Even if Ruggiano regresses were replacing boni/gorky/cousins/peterson in the OF with Hamilton, and hanleys suckatude at 3B with a high OBP guy. To many time stanton hit a solo shot, we need people on in front of him. Reyes, Youk and Hamilton in that order should provide something. Bat Boni 7th, to give Brantly someone to drive in. Or bat him 8th, I don't care. Youkilis had a .336 .OBP this year. I'd venture to say 336 is better then what we should expect from anyone in our system.

Jason Vargas was a clusterf*** until 26 years old. He has only been good since 27+. This crowd wants to dump 23 year old pitchers because they don't yet have success, they certainly don't earn the ability to talk about guys that bloom 4 years after they were moved. I think we should have kept him, but I thought that back then also. 2009 Marlins had 87 wins, without injuries to Hermida and Johnson we are talking about a likely playoff team. There were legitimate roster pressures to move de Aza that season. Not to mention that his performance this season is less impressive than Ruggiano's. Vargas was a disaster in his second year with us, which is I believe when we ditched him. He didn't really have impressive stuff, at least when he was with us, so when he was absolutely terrible it just seemed like the legue had figured him out. I'm honestly happy to see he is doing well, as I felt him easy to root for (who couldn't root for "The Crow"), but I can't say that I feel not sticking with him was a bad move. We ditched him during or after 2006, when we had a wealth of pitching prospects, and he quickly went to the back of that. I still blame Girardi for the downfall of Vargas, he made him cut his hair and he lost all of his strength And balance.
