We need a 3B who can catch, forget about Cantu. I would rather have Amezaga start becasue he is solid defensively. We dont need any RP or SP, a trade for Laroche would be great but I think its unrealistic

His BA is .262 , he has put up average production numbers, and he is maybe the worst RF I have ever seen. Combibne those factors and you get a scrub. I think he will be a solid RF in the future but RIGHT NOW HE SUCKS. Idk what kind of world you guys are living in, but no one on this board can tell me he is even an average fielder. Also, he has thus fur failed to meet expectations. It says alot when you guys are freaking out about the fact that he had a very good month, its about time he does something. Just because everyone in baseball was high on his swing and his expectations were huge you biased people think he is god. hanley .342 and miggy .337, cannot get enough of watching these guys hit (and field in hanley's case, sorry miguelito). hermida with quite a ballgame. olivo should never play again (and it has nothing to do with bonds' pop up to the mound that miggy should have caught). the mi-train gets a win without his best stuff, justice! superman soars! I know the staff has been far from healthy but Gonzalez hasnt been good. His bullpen management is questionable, his in game moves suck (We need to play alot more small ball AKA bunt and hit and run alot more). I also thinks he needs to take a more hardline appraoch with the youngsters like Girardi did last yeat. The thing that bothers me the most, however, is the awful D that hasnt gotten any better (maybe the Perry Hill retirement has something to do with it). Overall, on D they seem sloppy, uncrisp ( like Hanley 2 said) and just flat out lacksidasical and I attribute that to the coach. Once again I know the staff has been far from healthy but the Marlins have looked pretty crappy in other areas as well and that is the responsibility of the manager to fix these problems. Bringing in someone to compete with Uggla???? Are you out of your mind?????? The only way we can bring in somebody that can even hold Uggla's jockstrap is if we give the guy 9 mil a year. He's gonna get Boles'd by the team, probably next year. I get the same impression...you know, for a team that has perennially fielded a young team, shouldn't we know that pushover managers just don't work with young teams? We have seen it time after time within our own franchise. Off the top of my head I can remember Torborg, Boles, Perez, and so far Gonzalez. They just seem to play uninspired baseball unless we have a manager that keeps them on edge. could not have agreed more

Ok you guys are saying we have no shot this year. I know we have played like BS but we are only 6 games out of the wildcard. With the way our SP has been its a miracle we arent 15 out but I believe the SP can vastly improve and we can make a run. If we have no shot this year and you think we should play Hermida everyday because of that why dont we call up Gaby, Aaron, Chris and Brett while we are at. Bottom line is right now Hermida sucks and Cody is better in EVERY way.

Makes up for it with his bat??????? Hes hitting 238 while Cody is hitting 290. Cody is also much better with the glove. I understand long term Hermida might be the answer but like I said if we are truly serious about making a run THIS YEAR Cody is the answer.

Hello all I am new to the board and I just wanted to say how great it is to have a message board filled with diehard Marlin fans. I have been reading posts for years on a regular basis but for some reason I never registered. Anyhow, I think when Hanley returns Ross should be the full time starter in RF if the marlins are truly serious about contending for a playoff spot. While I am still hopefull for Hermida to be a good player in this league, he has been pretty bad. I'm not that dissapointed in his offensive production as much as his awful defense. For that reason I dont even think there should be a platoon in RF and I think a full time Cody Ross gives us the best chance to make the playoffs.
