Marlins Eyeing Bonds?
No need to get Barry Bonds... Lets just get some pitching and fill the holes with afordable decent players... It doesnt matter how many Homer's Barry hits if were giving up 10 runs a game.. Plus am sure he wants to end his career with a team thats gonna be in the playoffs... Sure worked out for Jeff Conine. :mischief

Boss says Torre's job on line
Huge mistake to let Torre go.... And God please no J.Girardi... Supposedly Mattingly was being groomed as Torre's replacement. Also, supposedly Girardi's been hanging around working for YES in hopes of swooping in on the job. Perhaps there is a reason Loria hated Girardi's guts.

Marlins Eyeing Bonds?
Fear + Hatred = The Dark Side Actually that's Fear -> Anger -> Hate -> Suffering -> The Dark Side I myself think we need to go for the _-Rods. A-Rod and I-Rod. They've been teammates before.

Roxy Bernstein's contract not extended
He can be the King of Scotland for all I care. He's moronic. Wouldn't that make him the Last King of Scotland? Because Idi Amin was pretty moronic himself.

Boss says Torre's job on line
I myself would love to see Torre hold a news conference and publicly tell the Boss where he can shove his job. The beautiful part is that the Boss probably didn't even make that statement, and it'll be Bozo the Rubenstein that costs him the greatest manager in Yankees history.

Mack Strong's career ended by neck condition
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3054911 Seahawks fullback Mack Strong's 15-year career is over. The 36-year-old suffered a herniated disk in his neck that is pinching his spinal cord. Team physican Dr. Stan Hering informed him that the injury will heal itself "if he stops playing now". Strong played all 15 of his years at Seattle.

Bring Pudge back!
I already said this was a great idea. For the right price, we need him. It should be noted the catcher position is not a traditional position for offense but to manage the pitching staff he can definitely still do that. If his bat gets better (after being back home) that is a plus. So let's go for it. Miguel Olivo sucks behind the plate and sucks with the bat. Pudge Rodriguez is among the best defensive catchers of all time (and many argue he still is), and he's still good with the bat. (.294 OBP is still better than Olivo's .262, and his BA is over 40 points higher.)

The TBS Popping Their MLB Coverage Cherry Thread
Ted Robinson has forgotten what counts were, how many outs, he's been awful. To his credit though, he isn't a good fit with Stone. He could use a color guy who takes up a lot more air time. Stone offers up nothing. He's just a prick with a soap box. TBS could have stuck Don Orsillo with Joe Simpson to do that series, but that would have caused a conflict easily with a NESN announcer (on the Red Sox payroll basically) calling a Red Sox game for a national network. It's one thing if you are Vin Scully, Jack Buck, Joe Buck, Skip Caray, or Chip Caray all who have big mouths and have their lovers/haters....but Orsillo is low key and it would just be uncomfortable I would think. Imagine if he called his partner on TBS Remy by accident on air. They should have put Orsillo and Simpson on Indians-Yankees, and Caray, Brenly and Gwynn on Red Sox-Angels.

World Series memories
Google SeaQuest Marlins and see what comes up :thumbup If only they knew... Doesn't say which episode mentions it though. Jonathan Brandis' character wore a jersey throughout the show that said it on the back Oh, stupid me. Been too long.

Pacman: "I did enough" to return early
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3053100 Adam "Pacman" Jones has indicated that he "did enough", and will file for early reinstatement after Week 10. The article oft quotes TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter. His words were, "I think I did enough. I did pretty much everything Mr. Goodell asked me to do. So, all I can do is just wait and go back to speak with him."

Heaven on Earth?
I myself say Heaven on Earth exclusively was 1997, because it happened here. Not just for us, but here. Over 67,000 people singing "We Are The Champions". I would love to take part in that some time before 2011, just to rub it in H. Wayne Huizenga's face.

Boss says Torre's job on line
I gotta say. After reading that article, what a mistake it would be to let Joe Torre walk. thoughts? Accurate statement. But if they lose now, Torre may not want to come back regardless. How much more of this abuse, and the rampant speculation for years, can he take?

Oh my god! Garrard looked like he got sacked within a second of the hike, but he shoveled to Drew and got the first down. Garrard is 10/12 for 98 yards.
