Another thing, why did this guy rate Matt Dominguez a 'B' prospect at this point in his career? He's just out of high school for crying out loud. It won't be another 3-4 years until he makes it to the bigs and he has maybe 50 pro at bats, probably in rookie ball which is pretty much a High School All-Star League. If I were rating prospects I'd put him at the bottom of the list for now until he gets a little more experience. A lot of prospect experts are rating a lot of these young guys fresh out of high school + college way too high right now. I think I saw on miLB.com they've got the top 50 prospects list and they've got Price, Porcello, and Wieters on there ALLEADY! With hardly any minor league experience. I understand they're highly touted and everything, but at least wait to see what they do in ONE pro season! It's kinda silly if you ask me /rant As long as they have been "ranking" players there has always been that element of confusion. I think what really tends to confuse most of us is when they factor in "projectability." A close friend of mine told me that when he reads Baseball America and he see a ton of Top Ten players in a team's system who are at Rk level, it tells him they don't have a lot of "prospects." High A seems to start separating the men from the boys. He's got a point. I just enjoy the reading and following all the young guys. Some info is better than no info, is kind of how I look at it. I could tell you stories...

I guess what I have trouble understanding is why would McNamee lie about it? Did Clemens do something to him that ticked him off. He named enough players that he didn't need to start making up names, right? If there some underlying motive there? The guys names Clemens in the Mitchell report and then after that calls him up asking for fishing equipment? Doesn't that seem really odd?

Why does someone need injected with B-12. Can't you take it orally? I have heard this more than once on B-12..... ???

nice trade, had no idea Swisher was being shopped. Kenny Williams couldn't sign any free agents. Fans were upset so he had to make a move to show he is doing something. A's played a nice card game and probably won the hand. Contract below for Swisher. Williams will come and and say it frees up money for other guys. He has trouble signing impact free agents - $$$. $3.5MM in '08, $5.3MM in '09, $6.75MM in '10, $9MM in '11, and a $10.25MM club option for '12 with a $1MM buyout. The option gets a $1.75MM bump if Swisher is top five for the MVP voting during the contract. He has limited no-trade protection for 2011-12.

ESPN is reporting that the Tigers and Dontrelle Willis have agreed to a three-year, $29 million contract. Willis had to come pretty cheap for this to make any sense at all for the Tigers, and he surprisingly settled for less than Jeremy Bonderman received a year ago. The deal will buy out his first year of free agency. Your head doesn't get bigger and you don't become more ripped just because you are getting older either. I'm not getting in to this one way or another, but that is a superfluous post. Ive never seen any proof that Barry got more "ripped" as he got older. Maybe there are pictures out there that prove me wrong. Gaining muscle and getting ripped are not one in the same. You can be a lard a** and still pack on a lot of muscle. When I look at Barry Bonds, I see a guy with a lot of muscle but not a guy who is "ripped". It looks to me like Barry's body fat percentage is much higher than it was when he was younger which would explain a lot of the "growth" which is spoke of. I have no argument for your comment about the size of his head.

Pretty cool IMO it reminds me of Wrigley with all the apartments across the stadium. I am from Chicago and Wrigley is falling apart. A few years ago they had to put netting under the upperdeck to catch the chucks of concrete breaking off. They NEED to rip it down and rebuild it, moderize it. People just go there for the beer. Not sure of the condition of the Orange Bowl since I have never been there but sometimes OLD need to come down for NEW. The Wrigley idea is a good one though, if they could mimic it.

The sail roof ain't happening here in Miami. The team has been adamant about a real, retractable roof from the beginning. The problems down here are more than just the sun beating down on the fans. We have to deal with the heat, the humidity, and most importantly, the threat of rain every summer afternoon as well as the actual rain itself. A partial sail roof may protect the fans from getting wet but the game would be delayed or postponed since it would not cover he playing field. Thats not true. You think theyd really consider a roof that had some sort of enormous hole in the middle that only allowed water to fall all over the field???? Is that what you think? The roof they're talking about isnt just an oversized umbrella that hangs over the fans. Is that "sail" going to withstand a hurricane. Please excuse my asking but I am in Chicago and it seems like 120 mph wind would not be good on a sail.

Also. According to one industry official, "several" prominent Yankees will be named by Mitchell in his 2 p.m. news conference in Manhattan. The official, who spoke to a third party who'd seen the final report, predicted, "It's going to be a rough day in the Bronx" after the identities are made public. No Mets from the current 40-man roster are named, according to the same source. Make sure Georgie-boy is on the list too!

Maybe I am naive, but I am not really sure why they need to name names? Isn't enough to mention that ex number of guys were All-Stars, MVPs, Cy Young winners, led the league in HR's, etc. There obviously was a big problem but this sounds like a witch hunt. Is it really going to make us feel better if they give the names of players? Maybe they should include the names of the owners/managers/trainers and other people in management (COMMISSIONER's office) who knew it was going on and did absolutely nothing about it because they were making $$$. Don't unfairly nail this entire problem on the players..... JMHO The report isn't just about the players. I am glad to hear that but I still wonder why we have to name names... watch the news tonight and my guess is that their first focus will be on who was using them versus who knew it was going on. Why shouldn't they be? As a fan of the sport, I'm going to be sick to my stomach probably by a lot of the names on the list. I still want those that have taken an invincible attitude when it comes to their use of PED and HGH to be exposed. Exposing those that have gotten away with it in the past could do just as much to curtail use by other players using currently by fear of being exposed as well as enhanced drug testing could do. Good point and no one wants to see it cleaned up more than me but if they name 60-80, did they name everyone involved? What about the guys they missed? I have a hunch that there were alot more than 80 guys using.
