Glaus will be a RH batter off the bench, while he is healing his tired legs. I can see him playing 1B and 3B after that as well as being a force off the bench as a PH. Lee gives the Braves a great D 1B which Glaus was terrible in that dept. All in all it would be an amazing deal for ATL as long as we do not give up a top prospect.

braves fan perspective: why are we trading for ross? i mean, to be honest, he does little to help the braves. and i'm hearing the marlins want melden. convince me, the braves fan that we need ross, because i don't see anything unique with ross expect he's a braves killer. I can't think how the Braves would justify this deal. He is an upgrade defensively over Diaz but Diaz is just as good of a hitter (if not better while hot) Even though Diaz was slumping early this season he has been of fire lately. Not to mention if McLouth ever starts playing like he did in Pit we would be set. If we make a deal for a LF I would rather get a guy who can REALLY mash and deal at least one of our OF back to them. Another thing, why the hell did we go for Gonzo when we could have just went after Bautista who is on the block and more of what we need.

Irrelevant now, and I know he's having a down year, but I would've taken Escobar and stuck him at 3b in a heartbeat. That would've helped out of defense a bunch, plus he is gonna get back to his old form again. He's been banged up most of this year. That cannon would've looked good at 3b. Obviously, the braves then still would've had to come up with a ss somehow. He hasn't played 3B since '07 and he wasn't good. -1 in 22 games. Sample size is waaaay too small to use +/- here. He's an outstanding defensive infielder. I think he coul easily be a plus defender at 3B, even if not the monster he is at SS. I really don't see why not being able to post a positive number in 52 chances isn't conclusion drawing worthy but if you don't want to, he was also a terrible 3B in the minors in another 103 chances. He's really not shown anything to prove he can play the position. Anyone who would move him from SS in favor of Hanley should be fired...Hanley may be a 50 times better ballplayer but not even close D at SS.

Plain and simple, if she can get people out give her a shot. If a girl can hit and play D give her a shot. I am sure there are quite a few ladys who can hit better than Corky Miller. I am also sure a fast woman who can play D would have no prob if given a shot.
