Having Jake Smolinski not in the top 25 is a glaring omission. Anyway, like many have said. Good effort but you need to learn more about many of these prospects.

Not only because he was performing well, but also because if Ross or Hermida were to go down, he's really the only one I would have been completely comfortable with in the everyday lineup. You'd be comfortable with a guy who hasn't been in the majors since 2007, and in that season had a whopping .618 OPS that season? Well, based on the fact that he's had plenty of prior success, and since that 2007 season has been successful every single place he's played (including here), yea I'd be comfortable with him playing everyday (at least a lot more comfortable handing him the ab's instead of anyone else at the moment). And in his "successful" days, wasn't Gibbons on the juice? Muchado about nothing here, Gibbons ain't good anymore (if he was ever considered good in the first place)

What will be interesting to watch unfold is when Fox needs to move a Marlins gametime in order to accomodate televising a game elsewhere. In the past the Marlins have always been willing to go along, and while the decision I suspect is ultimately made in the Commissioner's office, this year the Marlins may not be so willing to go along unless forced to and with some strings tied to it. I don't think the Marlins have much of a choice on the situation. And even if they did, I doubt they would be against it.

I don't think I agree with sending Carroll down just because he hasn't learned to hit at this level. He plays excellent defense and has put up excellent numbers in the minors and learning to hit major league pitching isn't gonna happen in AAA. I'm not sold on Carroll as a major leaguer at all but if the organization believes he can be, it might be time to find out. I'm not too encouraged by our backup OF situation and I'm wondering where the hitting is gonna come from when Ross or Hermida get injured. This is irrelevant. The 4th OF will be whomever out of Carroll, Gibbons, Raynor, Cousins, and De Aza can come in and play the best defense for Hermida at the end of every game. I don't think Raynor and Cousins are in the discussion at this point.

Gotta think Brett has the upper hand here as long as he can stay remotely healthy the rest of spring (and hit the ball a bit too)

Just ST stats? Yep. and small sample size And I do know it's only a small sample size when you don't have the same opinions as a Dallas fan. If you happen to really like this guy, then it's enough to know this is a star in waiting. Hyprocrisy always makes me chuckle. Do you really believe there are people out there that think he is a star in waiting? At best he's the next Jack Cust or Russell Branyan. No matter how you slice it, 15 at bats in Spring Training is a very small sample size.
