I haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't see too many movies during baseball season.

Epic Fail: for some things, there's just no excuse Well saving $5+ million off a $36 million payroll and still being in contention for the division are both pretty decent excuses. The move was a salary dump, first and foremost. Its hilarious how people try to ignore that aspect of our franchise. Its the same swiss-cheese logic that results in threads about acquiring Joe Mauer. I agree with you, I just posted that because i googled epic fail and that was the first image result. I just found it funny. However, I do have to point out that the Marlins regularly make the most money from revenue sharing, but spend very little of it on keeping or acquiring players. MLB Operating Income Rankings 2009

I just hate trading back for someone. It just feels like we failed Bonifacio is an epic fail. Not along the lines of Jorge Julio fail, but a failure nonetheless. IMO, summarily reducing a profitable corporations decisions to an internet meme reveals a fairy unsophisticated understanding of the way the world works.

Jeff Conine
I think Tommy is a lot better. Conine was generally pretty boring. Every time he told a story about his time with the Phillies, he just kinda fizzled out into nothingness. I have MLB.TV, so I see announcers from all over the league, and except of course for the great Vin Scully, Rich and Tommy seem like the most passionate team in baseball. And by passionate I don't mean they yell a lot like those White Sox announcers, who I think are the worst in the game. They seem like they have a real awareness of what is happening around the league and a real enthusiasm about everything Marlins, like the new ballpark.

Thank God baseball is back...I hate the all star break. That one day without any baseball related activities always kills me.

Moyer is 12-2 with a 3.06 ERA in 14 games started lifetime vs. The Fish. And who were the 2 pitchers Jamie Moyer lost to? Josh Johnson and Chris Volstad. :cool

John Hirschbeck vs Manny Ramirez
Who cares really...I'm sick of roiders and cheaters. I hope Manny retires and we clean up this sport. The love for people like Manny and Michael Jackson is what's wrong with this country. Actually, people caring so much/being so bitter over others fame is more of the problem. Not that this is relevant, anyways, considering you think our president is a racist. Eh, it's one thing to call him a Kenyan racist who's going to bring back slavery by the year 2012, it's another thing literally believe that he's the Antichrist. He thinks slavery will be brought back by 2012? It used to say it in the "about me" section in his profile, but he replaced it sadly. It was a whole list of all the crazy sh*t he felt Obama was going to do in his 4 years, with the last one, slavery, being my favorite. How would you bring that up in Congress?: "Hey guys. Ummmm...... I was just looking at the budget when I realized that we're in debt. I also noticed that the White House grounds crew makes quite a bit of money. I was thinkin' that it would be great if we didn't have to pay them. Or anyone else for that matter." :afro :respect

Pedro to the Phillies
I'm surprised it took a team this long to get seriously involved in talks with Pedro. You just have to wonder how much he can really contribute at this point. I don't think he'd do much better than J.A. Happ has been doing (6-1, 3.50 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). Also, Rodrigo Lopez just came up and got a win. If the Phillies did get Halladay, the Marlins always have the wild-card to look forward to.

BJ Ryan
From an article by the Canadian Press: Overall he was 1-1 with a 6.53 ERA and two saves in 20 2-3 innings, with 13 strikeouts and 17 walks. "In the role we have for him, he's not going to be effective for us," said Ricciardi. "This gives him a chance to get on with his life and it gives us a chance to move on." I guess they just don't want him. This is good for BJ. Now he can go to a team that will actually have a role for him, and as far as I can tell, he gets $10 million from the Jays next year.

Officials: N. Korea believed behind cyber attacks
I am very skeptical that North Korea has the technological capability to orchestrate such attacks. I would not be surprised in the slightest if it turns out to be untrue. They have internet access in NK now?

BJ Ryan
There is a huge red flag here. Ryan has to be seriously used goods here. At least Donnolly was performing in AAA. To just release this future all star, something isn't right. I think we have enough options without him. When you say something isn't right, don't immediately assume he's hurt. Remember when the Jays released Frank Thomas just before he hit one of the milestones in his contract. This could be something like that. Cot's doesn't have any details on incentives in Ryan's contract, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any.

De Aza down, Gonzalez up
Interesting choice considering the conventional wisdom would have been for Gaby but obviously they need utility infield help first and foremost. Makes you wonder if Ramirez could be out for longer than anticipated. Yeah it must be that they want a more versatile infielder. Gonzalez can play anywhere basically. That's the way I see it. They finally had to buck up and count out Alfredo for the season so they needed a guy that can play multiple positions off the bench. I doubt it has much to do with Hanley. We may be missing his bat but Boni has done a fine job defensively at SS, showing off that range. So saying this is a sign of bad news about Hanley is saying Andy is going to replace his bat. I don't see that happening. Also, Wes Helms looked really good in the field at 3B the other day. But if Hanley is gonna be missing time, guys need days off, and some one like Gonzalez would make sense. He brings a lot of versatility. When he was with Chicago in 2007, he played 3B, all 3 OF positions, 1B, 2B, and SS.

Just got back from the game ....
Mets and Giants fans must come from the same gene pool lol! Well, the Giants did originate in NY, so who knows.

Can Jeter do it?
Also, I don't think there's a chance Jeter plays regularly for another 8-10 years. I don't think that Jeter would sign with another team after he is no longer useful in New York. I think that he wants to retire as a Yankee. I don't see him doing something like Babe Ruth retiring after playing with the Boston Braves. I just don't see him as a 42 year old DH in Kansas City.

Bees at Petco Park
This is just ridiculous. I've never seen anything like this. It makes the bugs in Cleveland seem like nothing. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Any Thoughts?

We got Ayala!
This is a low risk signing. It reminds me of what the Red Sox did with Bartolo Colon last year. Of course he ran off to the Dominican Republic and was released. Same thing with Brad Penny or Rocco Baldelli. Low risk, potential big rewards.
