Posted July 15, 200915 yr Does anybody know what the starting pitching will be for the Phillies series? JJ didn't pitch in the AS game so does this mean he'll pitch Saturday or Sunday? I'm going Saturday night, so I'm hoping I'll get to see him.

I'm going Saturday night, so I'm hoping I'll get to see him. In the Phillies series it will be Thursday Chris Volstad vs Jamie Moyer, Friday Josh Johnson vs Cole Hamels Saturday Ricky Nolasco vs Joe Blanton, and Sunday Andrew Miller vs J.A. Happ It is going to be a tough series, but we should be able to take 3/4 and be 2 games out come Sunday. Hopeful they could sweep and be tie for first.

July 15, 200915 yr What most likely happens is a series split. Although, yes, I'd love to take 3 of 4 or even sweep but that's doubtful. The Friday night matchup should be fun, though; looking forward to that.
July 16, 200915 yr No, splitting the series with the D-backs was a disappointment. Phillies? Not so much.
July 16, 200915 yr Id consider anything less then 3/4 a dissapointment That's a little harsh, don't you think?
July 16, 200915 yr we need to be good in this series because phy know their can but us alway in this series we already down by four game this going to be like playoff game both teams need series
July 16, 200915 yr Author They now have the probable pitchers section open on the Marlins site since the allstar stuff is over. JJ is on Saturday baby!! With how effective Blanton has been, it should be a great pitchers duel. He outpitched Santanta just like JJ did. Looking forward to this one. We'll probably see a series split. Volstad gives up way too many long balls and the Phillies will capitialize on that. L Nolasco should take us to a win. W JJ will rock the house as usual if the fish can hit Blanton. W Miller? Lol...what can I say about him? That's a gimmie game for the Phillies. L
July 16, 200915 yr I was really hoping I'd get to see JJ pitch live on Friday. The last game I went to, Nolasco pitched as well, and lets just say it was the start before he got sent down...

July 16, 200915 yr I've seen 3 JJ starts already, including the gem he pitched against Johan Santana on a sunday when I believe Murphy made an error in the outfield. I'm not sure if it was him or another player on the mets.
