  1. Good...I have wanted him gone for a long time. All the Hermida fanboys can have some crow.
  2. I think that whatever the Marlins accomplish this year is noteworthy. I don't really expect too much even if we do make the playoffs givin the way the Yankees and Dodgers are playing. We have too many Andrew Millers, Sean Wests and Rick VandenHurk's on this team. Not to mention the lack of a true closer. I mean does anyone really have any confidence in our bullpen with anyone not named Leo Nunez?? Lets be real here, the Marlins are on a fun ride right now and were all loving the whole every 6 years discusson, but I don't see it happening this year. Good job to the Fish though for doing what they've done with very little. Having to play in that abysmil football stadium with 12,000 fans a night in the atrocious Florida summers with a far below average salary. I still enjoy watching games when I can.
  3. Who the hell are the Marlins?
  4. They now have the probable pitchers section open on the Marlins site since the allstar stuff is over. JJ is on Saturday baby!! With how effective Blanton has been, it should be a great pitchers duel. He outpitched Santanta just like JJ did. Looking forward to this one. We'll probably see a series split. Volstad gives up way too many long balls and the Phillies will capitialize on that. L Nolasco should take us to a win. W JJ will rock the house as usual if the fish can hit Blanton. W Miller? Lol...what can I say about him? That's a gimmie game for the Phillies. L
  5. Link?
  6. Does anybody know what the starting pitching will be for the Phillies series? JJ didn't pitch in the AS game so does this mean he'll pitch Saturday or Sunday? I'm going Saturday night, so I'm hoping I'll get to see him.
  7. Fine by me. I've been waiting for him to be dealt for years now.
  8. Anyone know what happened to JJ? He was pulled after only giving up 1 run? I can only get the scores on the internet at work...
  9. ''No hard feelings,'' said his agent, Beverly Hills Sports Council's Dan Lozano Yeah right...lol.
  10. Uggla and Volstad are good.
  11. I like the guy who announces the Dan Lebretard show before it comes on with the really deep voice. He should just do the whole show. :shifty
  12. im proud of this team for how they are finishing this season. I/m actually pretty pissed at them...They waited too freakin long to get their act together! I agree...it reminds me of A-Rod. Only doing well when it doesn't matter anymore. No pressure usually means a better performance. Notice how they really didn't turn it on until they were out of the race? There gonna have to sweep Philly to have any kind of a chance...and even thats slim. At least they should finish slightly above .500 though.
  13. whoops screwd up the quotes...*delete
  14. gregg is garbage end if story. he shows no emotion and i knew he was going to blow the game the minute they announced him as pitcher. for him it's easy getting the 2 first outs....but the third one well the bases loaded and a grand slam later... You guys really need to get over the showing emotion thing. If Gregg gives up a slam and shreds his glove with his teeth in anger, it's still a grand slam. Doesn't make any difference. Yeah, cause when Josh Beckett shows emotion it sucks and we all know Beckett sucks. It's about time someone on the staff showed some damn emotion, even if it has to come from T.V. announcers. Maybe it would give at least give the illusion that someone gave a damn this second half besides a couple pitchers.
  15. Renderings will not be released to the public until the the next phase of work is passed.
  16. Renderings are a good sign. These are to impress the high brass that governs the decision in the end. Hope they used top of the line software for some nice walkthroughs. An important thing to always remember is to keep the preliminary documents at a SD level so to not inquire to the judge that the Marlins have won the battle already. However the fact that these documents are already preparesd means that the Marlins organization will be much ahead of schedule once the court gives us the pass. :cool
  17. any 1 got info on how Lee is going i think he got season ending shoulder surgery but im not 100%sure Yup he's out for the season with right shoulder surgery. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/news?playerId=5179
  18. i miss doug waechter more than i miss justin miller, although his absence from the team is outwith our control when is waechter due back anyway? ok so i know justin miller's latest appearance wasnt great, but i tend to agree with you in that we shouldnt have been so quick to send him down, especially considering it was lo duca we replaced him with i still do not see the benefit of having lo duca holy sh*t i forgot about dw hope hes back soon also i miss lee gardner he was great out of the pen Man, I forgot about Lee Gardner. I liked him too. He was always the one to save that disaster of an aqquisition Jorge Julio.
  19. Ok, I know this is going to be a controversial thread, but I've had some time to cool off after that dreadful loss after another solid effort from one of our starters. This is the type of game I believe Justin Miller would have fit in nicely. First off, after Volstad finished his 6th inning without allowing a run, that should have been a huge moral boost for this team. The Cubs should have scored 3 or 4 runs in those innings. Now, after Volstad's pitch count had reached just about 100 after that effort, why the hell was he out there to pitch again? Oh yeah, there weren't any good rested arms left in the bullpen. Why? Because they DFA's Justin Miller! I was reading Cub forums and they don't understand why we did that either. The guy hasn't been perfect, but certainally not worth getting rid of. He would have been the 7th inning guy followed by maybe Hendrikson or Rhodes. Instead out strolls Pinto bean to ruin the game. I liked Miller and think he could have been a lot more effective than Pinto in that situation. JMO...
  20. The bats are still dead, but thankfully Hanley came through for an early lead and Cody made them pay for walking Hanley. I love when that happens. Lets go Fish for the series tomorrow. And dammit Mets, play some tough teams and lose.
  21. Unfortunatly, a very solid and accurate article. Sad to say the least... the strikeouts and the errors absolutely have to improve! This has been a trend for a few years now. People on this board need to realize, after 2+ seasons from these guys, they are what they are, and it isn't going to change. This team will not miraculously become a stalwart defensive team. And if the bats are going to go south, then this is what you are going to get. A team that teases, but in the end is a pretender, not a contender. you can honestly think that the marlins are pretenders. We have been in contention the whole year, and even led the division at one point. we are defenitely contenders. but i agree with everything you said about the dolphinsand they are # 1 for me to. No the Marlins are not pretenders, their just in a mediocre division this year. Our entire division is inconsistant this year with different problems on every team. The only reason they've been "In It" is because no team has been consistantly good. Imagine if we were in a division with the Rays, Angels or Cubs...forget it, the Marlins would have been done long ago.

  23. Justin Miller has been really great. Is it really a big deal if we lose Mr.Hanging Slider? 2.45 ERA, 1.227 WHIP since the break? When you could demote someone else and DFA Hoover and send Pinto down? I can't agree with that. Exactly WTF is this team doing? It looks like their just scrambling right now for anything. Complete desperation if you ask me. I liked Tattoo....
  24. I was teased by yet another Marlins carrot last night. I come home after watching Tropic Thunder, turn on ESPN baseball tonight, and they say the web gems are coming up. To my complete suprise, I see THREE webgems featuring the Marlins on defense!!! The last one I saw the score 5-3 in the ninth. Im like, sweet we beat Zambrano!! Well sure enough I see the score later on and yet again more dissappointment. *sigh
