  1. The ump was laughable at best...lol...but we lost yesterdays game because of the usual very poor defense. Most errors in the majors? I feel very bad for b.k because he had his best start of the season last night with 8 k's and should have left the game with the marlins leading 3-1.
  2. The only thing im really suprised about is putting garden boy in such a tight spot after he's been away from the majors so long. Pinto and Obie have been fairly good over all.
  3. we haven't had all our starters this whole year!!!
  4. LMFAO :whistle :whistle
  5. He's gonna be a welcome addition to the rotation. I saw him in Jupiter and was very impressed.
  6. I say this in a half joking manner, because it probably wont happen but at the same time wouldnt surprise me... Olivo is the one player in MLB that wouldnt surprise me if he swung when a pitcher was checking a guy at 1st. LMFAO....thats great. sure makes ya miss paul LoDuca doesn't it?
  7. Tweaked hamstring when he was running from first to third...great just what we need another injury. Dont these guys stretch? All these hammy tweaks are insane!!
  8. What happened to Cabrera's leg? I am listening to the radio.

Consistancy is key with starting pitching and ole Rickey had a horrendous start before tonight i believe he walked the bases full...lol. Obie will at least give you 5 good innings.
  10. Miguel Olivo needs to go. Add Matt Treanor to the list. *sigh* add catcher to the list of position player needs...
  11. MY GOD :banghead :banghead we can't by fu*%ing luck this season. We wont have any original starting pitchers left soon. isn't the hamstring the injury that never really heals right all season? i remember a lot of catchers that have never been right wth this injury. i think i could cry...
  12. awwww....they look so cute together... :whistle
  13. Correct me if im wrong but didn't our overtaxed bullpen give up 3 runs in the 9th? Also i recall stranding bases loaded twice in the game. There's always many chances to win or lose a game. It was not Amezaga alone that cost us the game. In fact he contributed to the big comeback in the ninth.
  14. I listened to the radio broadcast yesterday (roxy and dave) and roxy brought up a great point..."last year he showed no fear pitching against the yankees in his first start and also against roger clemans. This year he doesn't seem to be going after hitters the same way he did last year". So the only reason he would be more "afraid" to go after hitters would be if he knew his stuff wasn't up to par. He could have tendonitis coupled with that line drive off his push off leg. Between the Marlins and the Yankees they could fill a whole 40 man roster with all the players injured...

Wes Obermueller will remain on the Marlins' roster and be used in long relief. http://www.miamiherald.com/589/story/94466.html That's a great move IMHO...I like him in long relief.
  16. How do you blow leads and waste almost 4 million? Hire Julio It's actually less than $2.3 million but your point is made. Actually it is almost 4 million...3.6 to be exact. So many other places they could have used that money... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6709
  17. God Please, No!! We just reached .500 after the team finally rid itself of the julio virus! Id rather have Obermueller as a solid inning eater, setup guy. He's pitched very well his last two starts.
  18. That catch to rob the home run was amazing! Robbing Delgado at the plate was pretty sweet too. Plus the guy can stretch a triple out of a double 9/10 times. I like him!!
  19. I miss Castillo. Agreed...i miss a lotta ex-marlins. How many people here miss Todd Jones? If after one month of baseball we shunned everybody who had a sophmore slump or slide...we wouldn't have much of a team left. Hows that team E.R.A. lookin?
  20. im kinda confused as to why hurk has taken such a quick decline in effective strike throwing pitching. his first game he was stellar...striking out the side at one point. what happened with the mets and now the braves? Sort of like a rookie hazing by the ump. Really? Why are umps allowed to do that? i mean...practically our whole staff is is either on their first or second year. This "hazing affects our record and team morale...i don't think that's right. It's either a ball or a strike dammit!! At least keep the zone the same for both teams!

  22. i do recall reading a reporter's column prior to the season starting saying "the marlins will dearly miss joe girardi by the end of the season" I think this will hold true.
  23. funny...how shortly after the julio virus had been removed that the body begins to heal. :whistle
  24. No Fudamental baseball = Team finishing below .500 (And at this point we aren't a 500 caliber team). I'm afraid these thing won't be able to be fixed on one season Is his fault, he messed up the team's cohesiveness with the Julio fiasco. It kills the entire composure of the team agreed 100% Where is it? Not throwing strikes, playing horrible defense, making the wrong defensive decisions, making stupid mistakes on the base pads, etc etc. Time for Fredi to go ape on this team behind closed doors. How do we fix this? No Fudamental baseball = Team finishing below .500 (And at this point we aren't a 500 caliber team). I'm afraid these thing won't be able to be fixed on one season I think the number 1 problem so far this season is the starting pitching which has been terrible. The starters are 15th in ERA, 16th in BA allowed (.304), 15th in innings per start (this is excluding Mitre's last start), 16th in OPS allowed and 16th in WHIP. Our pitching was generally o.k. to start the season (first 6 games) bad starts tend to follow in succession....the starting pitcher can pitch perfect just to have the the reliever or closer consistantly ruin your perfect performance. Team chemistry is severly affected behind closed doors because of this...and our W-L ratio in the last 7 games proves this!
  25. i think julio has officially rubbed off on everyone...i notice it seems to happen when pitchers are doing well too. scotty, mitre and now the d-train all have successive bad starts...hmmmm :whistle
