6/26 Post game
The run had to end at some point. 1 win is something of a miracle for this lately, so 2 is near impossible.

2010-11 Soccer Thread
Schnellders i was watching that news on the TC the other day and quite frankly laughed. It will not happen, the government will not control fans, whether they sing abuse or are being patriotic. Its rather pathetic. In this country many would like Jerusalem to be our national anthem, as it is ours alone, just like Wales/Scotland and NI have there own which we don't, however i doubt it will be due to the hatred towards Scotland in it. Football fans in this country and Scotland are some of the most passionate fans around, which is reasonable seen as the sport came from this region, however when governments try and kill a rivalry its takes piss take to a whole new level. I hope it doesn't happen, as i like to see the big Scottish rivalry. And Neil Lennon punched

6/23 U2 @ Marlins; Marlins @ Mariners
U2 played a gig 2 seasons a go at Rotherhams stadium. They killed the grass on the pitch in which we had to pay thousands to replace and every other side complained. Can't stand them and there eco bulls***.

6/20 - Los Angeles Angels @ Florida Marlins
Im back but i guess i wont be seeing the Marlins first win in a while. The 2 hour difference is taking its toll so good night all and when i wake up i expect a win. Or a PPD game. Either way, least we wouldn't have lost.

6/20 - Los Angeles Angels @ Florida Marlins
Uh-oh. Drama already? If thats for me, just a bit of banter. Im sure he will give it back. Though he is probably watching the Tennis to see which round Murray bottles.

6/20 - Los Angeles Angels @ Florida Marlins
Oh, ive just seen Edwin resigned. I guess the form really took its toll on him. Would have liked to see him stick it out as we know that this side can perform better. After McIlroys win, ill bring some British look to the party as the Scot isn't doing a good enough job.

6/20 - Los Angeles Angels @ Florida Marlins
Im back from Turkey. I asked for a good streak but i guess its a sort of streak 7 defeats in a row. :/Anyway, Bonjour a tois. What have i missed apart from loss after loss? Is Hanley and JJ back yet?

6/13 - Diamondbacks @ Marlins
Im off to Turkey tonight, so won't be joining in with the fun and the defeats until next monday. Lets hope when i get back we have a flawless record for the week.

The Marlins need a crowd...
Haha, yes! It would be amazing to see. A world series HR with 70000+ people doing the Poznan. The bouncing thing seems to have come across Europe and hit GB recently. I do like Rangers fans. I also wish the next fan to go for Neil Lennon is quick.

The ignorance of you claiming it is 'silly' because you don't do it. I have no ignorance towards America as i rather like the place (which you may find surprising coming from a Brit), i like the way it is different from the rest of the world. I am not saying i want Baseball to be like Football, and i think people are slightly taking this out of hand from the original post to being something it is not. My original post states i would like to see the Marlins fans gathered as one to make the 'noise' better. Please read the initial post again, and you will see how far away from my main point this has gone. From me wanting to see an atmosphere at a Marlins game to me wanting America to change its ways to Football. I was explaining to you the differences of cultures. Yes, Americans would consider it silly to sing at baseball games like that. It makes me ignorant that I understand our own sports culture? The atmosphere of baseball games do not always involve crowd noises either. I love baseball the way it is. Of course, I would obviously love to see more people at Marlins games, but there's nothing we can do about it. No it makes you ignorant because you can't look at other cultures without nit picking. You never mentioned singing at baseball games. Your quote was 'Most people would find it silly to burst into song'. Or words to that effect. Which you are criticising the way other cultures do things.

Thank you. I should have known it would look bad.

Different cultures....most of us would consider bursting into song as being silly Yet the majority of the world partake in such acts at sporting acts. I don't mean to be rude but what is your point? Just because, according to you, the majority of the world does partake in song during a sporting contest that doesn't mean that America will just suddenly start doing it. Different cultures have different customs and bursting into song isn't part of American sports culture. If you read the initial post you will understand. Not trying to change America but seeing if it is possible for the little Marlins fans to get together to get behind there side. I don't like ignorance which is what LordMagnus post comes across as. What ignorance are you talking about? The only thing coming across your arrogance for Americans not acting like soccer fans at sporting events in other countries. God forbid we do things differently. The ignorance of you claiming it is 'silly' because you don't do it. The rest of Europe is much better than this country. Very passionate fans, some great chants ect. That bottom one is brilliant. Lech Poznan are known for there turning backs and jumping together routine when they score. I personally would love to see something like this in American sport. An example of how it can be done, is Greek giants Panithanikos(Spellcheck) going to a basketball game. taking 20000 fans and making it epic. Imagine this at a Lakers game, ha After seeing this sentence.... Apologies, by this country i mean ENGLAND!.

Hernando County teacher punches student, won't be charged
School children need a good smack once in a while, show they they aren't invincible. At times, i think we all deserved one from one of our teachers at school. Looking at kids now the way they talk to teachers is shocking, and i know that at times i did the same. As you grow you realise just how pathetic you really were. Got on well with my teachers in my final year, treat them like adults and they will you. Makes for a great friendship i say.

The Marlins need a crowd...
My main point was, i don;t see why we can't have said instances in American sports ^. Not everyone joins in but it lightens the mood, especially when losing. Simply shouting like an ape or booing really doesn't help. I'm sure the players would react more positively if every time they got up a song was sung about each one for instance. It shows you're behind him.
