  1. This lineup looks terrible. I want Yelich back AND DD in. And what is with these weird lineups where we bring in Jeff Baker at the end of a series...It's like we are content with a win and feel like giving away a game... ...I really want him to rub my nose in it tonight.
  2. Turner reminds me of the Volstad. Just give up...he is not magically going to be good. As for Disco...he just looks flat. From my couch seat...it looks like he is a slider pitcher who doesn't have any cut. And his fastball is what...90? Other than being young...what is the upside? He hasn't exactly torn anything up. We will flounder for a couple more weeks...they will trade hits and cishek for high upside pitching....and Jones to the Yankees for cash considerations...the front office will come out with some line like, "we think we win the team we have." Circle of life. Is it hockey season yet?
  3. McGehee isn't going anywhere. Jones will because he has a clear replacement. Why wouldn't they trade Mcgehee? He's controllable and will bring in assets. They could move him and get something for next year...or just pocket the cash... Tell me something...are you just intentionally contrary? You are like forum VD.
  4. The front office probably loves this. They need the team to do bad enough to be sellers in disguise. Just need a 5-10 run at least and it will be complete. They will get rid of Hits and Jones for sure. Cishek maybe. Stanton could be gone too.
  5. If nothing else...I hope that this proves ANY trade with Detroit will blow up in our face.
  6. I would bet that Disco is sent down for Brian Flynn, but if you DFA Turner, the question is who replaces him? Hand.
  7. A screen shot of my group chat. Ozuna's revenge. Sick.
  8. 2-5 in Furcal starts so far! If I may...anyone know the W-L record for D-squared starts?
  9. Is this the Morris we have been waiting for?
  10. Umpires still screwing this team, as usual; that was Ball 4 to Jones. The Blue have screwed the Fish for years; thank God for instant replay this year, or we would have lost several more games due to them. So now they just screw us on balls & strikes. My theory on this is that this organization, because of the ownership, gets no respect from anyone in baseball, and that includes the umpires. Maybe there's another reason why this team constantly gets so many poor calls, but I can't think of one so I'm going with the No Respect theory, LOL... Not that I ever agree with the fandom "the officials have it out for us" argument...we have to earn respect. A handful of games with some young guns and hired mercenaries is not going to do it.
  11. The Birds need a bat. Is Ginacarlo Stanton the answer? http://cardsdiaspora.com/2014-articles/rumor-mill-giancarlo-stanton-to-cardinals.html I think at this point we could probably trade Gina Carlo to this blogger without fear of too much public outcry.
  12. Biggest surprise so far...*
  13. The Marlins have signed 18-year-old Colombian pitcher Cristian Olmos, Joe Frisaro and Maria Torres of MLB.com write. Olmos is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, and he throws as hard as 94 MPH and has the makings of a good curveball. He will start the season in the Dominican Summer League.(http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/05/minor-moves-simmons-olmos.html) Original Source: http://mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140530&content_id=77502616&notebook_id=77503222&vkey=notebook_mia&c_id=mia
  14. Tommy K will carry the team. All my eggs are in this salad. #eggsalad #humongousbigsalad
  15. Because he isn't a free agent and we likely get more for him in offseason? Ok...so we are a .500 team that takes the water-boarding tour...where the slow dripping liquid is the salivation of all the teams licking their chops at how our future will soon be on their team... You're right...that's better.
  16. Well that sucks. I don't think it's pessimistic to think that a team just starting to make noise as a potential wild card is probably at best an 80 win team ...especially when Stanton is traded at the deadline because why keep him on a .500 team?
  17. From what I can see is that there are posters on here that are either: A) Overreacting to the start we've had so far, thinking that we are playoff-bound today B) Anticipating the eventual free-fall with discouraging degree of negativity or C) People who aren't saying anything because this is stupid. I pick: C) I'm stupid.
  18. They need to bring back Reel Big Fish - Trendy and just call it a day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCVQoGe-4k8
  19. I don't really want him playing all that much but one thing his return allows is for us to move Ozunas bat a little lower in the lineup so if Furcal actually does turn out to be decent he should have a lot more opportunities for RBIs and that will make our lineup a little deeper. I really hate the idea of Dietrich not playing everyday though. Making the top of your lineup weak to make the bottom stronger is like throwing dirt on an open wound to make it heal... ...And using vitriolic language and passive aggressive ellipses to distract from someones point as to elevate your own in-congruent point adds nothing to the conversation... Go home wild card...you're drunk.
  20. Does it puzzle you guys that the Marlins tweet all types of silly things, shouldn't they be tweeting to the fans, saying something like, sorry we suck well try better next time, thanks for wasting your money on us. If anything I am surprised by all of the scripture quoted. You'd think by now they would realize God doesn't care about their baseball game or prowess...and...if he/she/it was paying any attention to the religious social media...he/she/it is obviously not impressed enough to help.
  21. 4/15 Nationals A winning streak will start at some point and there is no reason to believe it won't happen tonight.
  22. See it is possible to get to Strasburg... Maybe now we can start raising the sky again.
  23. This team has gotten to Strasburg before...and can do it again. Just single him to death. The losing streak will end at some point and there is no reason to believe it won't happen tonight.

I never comment on here...lurking allows me the privilege unquestioned cynicism. However let me pose a question: lets say the Fish get home and take 2 of 3 from the Nats....Would we all feel a bit better? Now lets say they take another 4 games between Seattle and Atlanta...how about then? I guess I am just curious about what would alleviate the distress this 6 game losing streak has caused? For me 4-2 between Seattle and the Nats would go a Stanton distance.
