WildMarlinMan2003
You guys might think I'm crazy but why not move Cabrera back to short and put Nunez in right. Alex Gonzalez is an automatic out almost every at bat. Yes I know Gonzo and Luis form a great DP combo, but Cabrera is athletic enough to play anywhere. We need Abe's bat in the lineup! It's only spring but Vlad who?
Guest Juanky
Give Gonzalez a chance to show if he can hit consistently or not. Holy s*** you people are everywhere.
WildMarlinMan2003
I'm not going crazy like a lot of people but I've always liked Nunez. He's always put up good numbers everywhere he's played and he's huge in person.
fishtank
Put Nunez in left and Conine at first. The natural talent seeps off of Nunez, and if it was between Choi and Nunez for me, I'd take Nunez in a heartbeat. I'm not the only one, lots of people screaming that Nunez needs to be a starter today at Jupiter. I know trader Jack was listening.
djm305
LOLOL....I have a better IDEA, why don't we BENCH Lowell since he has sucked this spring, lets also BENCH conine since he has sucked and lets start the new SuperStar of the Marlins Nunez in LF and then We can move Caberea to Third, then we can put Coredero in RF. I also say we but Beckett in the bullpen since he has sucked this spring I say we let Wayne start in place of Beckett he has had a much better spring. Beckett did good last year when he came out of the bullpen anyone remember that. He could be a set up man.

And chalk up Matt Perisho as the closer and Damian Easley starting at second over that Castillo guy.

WildMarlinMan2003
I was impressed with Wilson Valdez as well. The guy can hit and is fast. He will look good in teal in the future.

fishtank
5 tool player > Choi The only reason I see for giving a Choi a chance over Nunez is that he plays first base. Anything else that he can do, Nunez can do if not better. He should get his chance, but Nunez should get the same chance Choi gets because Conine can easily assume the role of first base and Nunez can complete the outfield for the future. Its either an outfielder for the future who is a 5 tool player or a first baseman who hits well but does not excel defensively over any other first baseman in the league. They both should get their chances.
rferry
Nunez > Lowell, Pierre, Cabrera too. So what's you point? A 27yo non-prospect had a good year beating up younger pitchers in AAA, and now has a good spring against retty much the same pitchers and made the club. Good for him. Good for the club. He now has the chance to prove himself during the season. And he'll be given that chance, not just every day over eight players who performed well in 2003 and this spring. But what has Nunez done? He's 27 and has done nothing in the majors! Choi was on the way to a rookie of the year award until Dusty Baker decided to give all his playing time away to two senior citizens. CitanX
Career hitting stats: Year Team G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG 2002 FLA 19 17 2 2 0 0 0 1 0 5 0 1 .118 .118 .118 TOTAL: 19 17 2 2 0 0 0 1 0 5 0 1 .118 .118 .118 It is evident through this acquired information that Nunez sucks the big one at Pro level. Since stats is all that matter in baseball, we can clearly hypothesize after one year's results that this man is not worth the bat he carries. Also i Would Like to bring up another point Here is Nunez in 2002 Here is Nunez in 2004 as seen in spring training This is CLEAR evidence that he has been abusing of steroids. This can be clearly confirmed by the absence of 2 fingers. So what im trying to get at is ladies and gentlemen.....Is Abe Nunez really a nice guy? Thats what i thought CHOI FOR 04'!!!!!!!!!

TarHeel324
give the choisen one a chance while choi hasnt played many games in MLB, fact is he was an opening day starter last year. nunez has only had 17 ABs playing at the end of a crummy year, and he stunk it up. also, choi plays first! were comparing apples and oranges here. lets just leave choi at his natural position, conine at his natural position, and let nunez boost our bench

AJBurnett34
Man you guys just dont get it (wildmarlinman2003) Alex is not in SS for his hitting, only for defense. Thats all Mckeon wants to see out of him. If he hits good this season it will be like a plus for us and him. Bill is still working with him and he will continue to improve. Dont expect him to hit .100 in the spring. He will at least hit over .
