RockyMountainMarlin
Some people reported hearing on the radio that there would be an announcement on Monday that we got the stadium. I'd consider it an internet rumor for now. We'll see tomorrow.
Marlins2003
There may be "an" announcement tomorrow or later this week but the deadline was moved to May 6th so bth the city and county commissions could vote on the prosposal.
fishtank
I did not see Samson sitting where he usually sits by Loria on Saturday and I did not see him there Sunday either. He's probably busy getting things ready for this week. Hopefully this stadium deal will become a reality and baseball can continue to flourish in South Florida. Those field-level seats right behind the net at home plate? If so, it's good to see them out there rather than in some luxury box.
PBMarlin
They sit in the field level seats (aka batter box) right next to the Marlins dugout.

Yeah if you ever see a Marlins player in the on deck circle if you look in the backround you can usually see Loria sittin right there. babaru
I really cant wait to watch the Marlins get the Ball park they deserve, Imagine it, watching them play in a geniune park made for the game, I cant wait, I cant wait. I can all ready see my self driving the five minutes to the site (assuming its near the orange bowl) and walking to my seat. C O O O L ! So anyway yeah I hope it gets done. hehe. :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup dont try to get around the profanity filter

rferry
ESPN Radio's news desk reported that the Marlins threatened to move to DC or Las Vegas this afternoon. I see nothing of the sort on the home pages of the MLB, Sun-Sentinal, PB Post or Herald though.

Did ESPN Radio report the Marlins made this threat this afternoon? or did you mean This afternoon ESPN Radio reported that the Marlins threatened to move to DC or LV? rferry
This afternoon they reported it (during the 12 PM EST hour) that was the report out of Florida. Actually it sounded like it could have been a teaser to more news about the ballpark expected today or within a few days (when is the state legislature ending?). Guest Moneyball
espn has been reporting this for a long time. last night during the game jon miller said the stadium idea was in doubt. not to mention the article by jason stark this week. they are reporting this to fans who really don't know the real stadium situationn COULD THIS BE THE WORK OF HUZIENGA? Guest Moneyball
by the way: we know that marlins haven't done the negotiations correctly but i'm sure if they were real close on a deal they wouldn't make a threat it just doesn't make sense. ESPN IS FULL OF BULL...
Beinfest4Prez
ESPN is being ESPN. Do you think we should pay attention to them altogether a lot on this matter? There just making a story for the sake of one. The people that you should listen to are Downtown Miami commisioners, however corrupt they are, and not pay attention to a biased media organization. Besides: We all know for a fact that MLB is not really into moving the Marlins because they know that South Florida is a gold mine for Major League baseball as has been shown since August of last year. jonnylons
Miami is the #7 media market. Marlins are not going anywhere. They will get their stadium, so relax, and enjoy the team. The details are being ironed out.
