Posted June 29, 200420 yr Well, Nate started tonight for the Topes and went 7 scoreless innings giving up only 2 hits and no walks. Maybe Nate is just much better suited to be a starter. If I were Admin Beinfest I might think about calling him back up and have him take over that 5th starter role. You never know he might impress some people and could increase his trade value if we need to pick up some pieces as the trade deadline nears. discuss

June 29, 200420 yr Wow...not bad for Nate, maybe give him a shot if Tejera doesn't work out this coming up start
June 29, 200420 yr I would agree Bump may be better suited as a starter. He does not perform well in pressure situations at the end of games...that is for sure. He might be a better option than Tejera. But with Josh progressing well, we probably won't see Bump back up here anytime soon.
June 29, 200420 yr He probably realizes that he doesn't wanna be there anymore, so he's trying hard to get himself together.
June 29, 200420 yr ah one start dosent mean much his gonna have to give like 3 quality start b4 we can think of calling him up.
June 29, 200420 yr Last start he gave up 2 runs in 4 innings (he was on a pitch count). The guy is defnetly talented and deserves to be in the bigs ahead of Tejera and Borland.
June 29, 200420 yr I know this guy is big league quality He was lights out when he first came up I'm sure it won't take long before he gets the call he just needs to gain his confidence
June 29, 200420 yr Nate is showing us what we knew all along, he is a solid AAA pitcher. He'll help them in their run for the playoffs. The Marlins answer is no longer Nate Bump.

Just what I would expect from someone supporting John Kerry! (Sorry to get political but that was my thought.) :thumbdown
June 29, 200420 yr I like "Nasty Nate" Bump he just needs to work more inning in the minors to get sharp get his confidence back...after he does that i think the fish will call him back up...
June 29, 200420 yr I wouldn't pay much attention to those stats. Remember, Tejera did very well in AAA before he was called up. He then gives up four runs in one inning against Tampa. There's a big difference between AAA and Major league ball.
June 29, 200420 yr I agree there is a big difference between AAA and the big leagues. But Tejera didn't do very well in AAA. Good ERA, but very poor command and a lot of dingers (more than any other pitcher) which usually says a pitcher has a good defense behind him.
June 29, 200420 yr No More Bump...Thank god we finally sent the Moustache down because I was sick of him too...Trade for BJ Ryan or Buddy Groom and Matt Mantei when he gets healthy and we'll be golden.
June 29, 200420 yr call up Bump and send down Koch you mean, send koch ELSEWHERE! ship him to the phillies!
