July 21, 200422 yr I'm glad both of you are ok. Mari- I would have waited for 10 hours for the police to show up just so that it could go on her driving record. What an idiot. I was rear ended, actually part of a chain reaction. It was raining and we were going rather slow (thank God) when we were rear ended. We wound up rear ending the car in front of us. We were caught in the middle and not charged with anything. Everyone was wearing their seatbelts. No one was hurt but it took 2 weeks for my Jeep Cherokee to get fixed. We simply don't pull out of our driveway until everyone is buckled up.

July 21, 200422 yr Where I first got hit, I still go by it. Of course, whenever I pass by, or even cross 49th street, it reminds me of the crash. Right after the crash, I was afraid to even go by there but I got over it.
July 21, 200422 yr i tried avoiding the area of the accident that was my fault for months until one day i had to go to my grandparents who live by that area after leaving south campus. after that day i just got over it. that accident was on 103rd by that surgical supply store by the palmetto.

Don't lie to em, but make it sound important, so they don't take their sweet-ass time getting there. Say something like "I just got in a wreck, can we have police here as soon as possible?"
July 21, 200422 yr if the toyota full size extendd cab truck aka the tundragets more than 20mpg on the highway...i may do that. they are at 19 right now...so its close. 467848[/snapback] the new Tundras look sweet. Das, if you do get a full-size, and you are kinda worried about the gas mileage (like if it's 19-20 mpg), I would do 2 things: get dual exhaust (headers and all). It not only adds HP, but it increases the mpg. The only problem is that unless you know a guy personally or whatever, you could end up paying about 2k for it. Although with the prices of gas these days, it still might be worth it (depending on how long you plan on keeping the truck). also, as you probably already know (since you have a truck now), on highways, wind resistant hurts gas mileage. That's why, if your bed is empty, when on the highway, you should open the tailgate. If you are the type guy who likes a top on their bed (no not one of those big toppers that are suitable for one to sleep in), you can go with a snap-on, or sliding one (like shudders). I got sick of having the top, and don't have one now, but when on the highway, it's tailgate down.

July 21, 200422 yr I got rear-ended (I hate that term) on the Rickenbacker Causeway and now I find myself always looking in my rear view mirror when I have to stop or slow down on a highway, and kind of bracing for impact if I see someone not slowing down behind me.
July 21, 200422 yr Well not too long ago i was coming back from a party with a girl and she had the right of way. And the other car took the red light and hit us headon. We were in a Ford Focus. It was total lost and the other car was a Maxima and only a couple of scratches. Funny thing the lady comes out saying "stupid young people this days" and my friend told her "shut the fuk upu hoe u took the light pay attention" The cops got there really fast. Nothing big i had a black eye and my friend was bleeding for his knee and mouth.

July 22, 200422 yr I just read this whole thing just now? Marisel, my dad is like an expert at this! You should have called me! You would have seen some people there! And quick! Where did it happen? Was it a lane change? Passing?? Gosh, sorry this happened! And I know how scary it can be! Your knees can be shaking after something like that. But Thank God no one was hurt!! So just try to keep that thought, to help get through this.
