I mean really...whenever he starts he is an utter failure. hell even when he doesnt start and comes to the plate he is still almost always an utter failure. if he were used to play some defense and to run only....id be ok with it. but when he hits...i cringe. why IS he on this team?
July 26, 200422 yr He is on this team because in Spring Training he was among the league leaders in almost all the hitting categories. He also dominated the Minors. He never gets a chance to show what he can do. Today he didnt hit good because Livan was dominating the whole TEAM.

July 26, 200422 yr Author he's a catcher..... the vast majority of catchers dont have much pop. your goal at the plate is to get base hits. treanor only has 44 at bats on the season. 12 with runners in scoring position...what do you people want?
July 26, 200422 yr I don't mind Treanor at all. He hasn't looked terrific defensively though, (3 errors, and only 3 runners thrown out of 13 chances) & when you're not in there for offense you'd better be good at the defensive aspects of the game. I think he'd be fine as a backup catcher, & given enough time I think he'd probably provide more pop than Red, but right now they seem to be about the same.

He was kept and put on the bench. Some guys need to play everyday and I think it was a waste for him to be on the bench. He should have been sent to Albuquerque where he would have played everyday and been sharp. He could have been called up if needed and been able to produce. This is one of the many failures of Jack McKeon managing abilities. He uses the "HOT" guy out of the BP constantly and then when he does need someone to produce....they may not have pitched (except in the BP) in two weeks. It's very frustrating to watch. I almost hope Nunez gets traded. He is an excellent player. He's become stale sitting on the bench which is NOT his fault!!
July 26, 200422 yr and because he is out of options, meaning that he would have to clear waivers before he could be sent down to AAA ... im guessing a waste of a spot is better than nothing
