Something going down....

in the next 24-48 hours. Three teams are being mention(Arizona, Colorado, and ???)... one player...would be a Marlin by Tuesday. The Ok has been given from above.

Exactly what I was thinking.

but the Astros have a better record than us

maybe they dont think they can win the WC

aaauuuughhh! this is so frustrating!

however, if this is accurate, it's good to know that the OK has been given to make a move, and that this talk of selling is just trumped-up nonsense.

COUGHREDSOXCOUGH

COUGHYANKEESCOUGH

this is good news no doubt

it shows that the front office is convinced that this is a very good team (so am i)

but the way we have been playing......it just might not be our year

we will see

one thing is for sure, this starting rotation will be dangerous in the post season

the astros are starting to feel like they are back in it.

they beat up on arizona this week...and they wont be sellers.

If we make a major move at this point then I have to conclude that the organzation believes that we can't risk raising the white flag with the stadium deal still in limbo. Thats the only rationale for being buyers rather than sellers.

not to mention we would lose the momentum of an increasing fan base if we surrender

Not to mention we are only 4 games out and have underperformed all season. One player could get us over the hump and the organization owes that to its fans.

I know this hasnt been mentioned, and for good reason, but what about Rocco Baldelli? Supposedly, the Phillies are being rumored to be asking about him...

What can they possibly give the D-Rays to help them in the future when Rocco is the basically the centerpiece of their future?

Silly Phils.

Phillies fans have mentioned Roy Oswalt, Barry Zito and Carl Crawford at my office....say they have credible sources....i believe that it's just their left hand talking to their right hand....I just keep laughing in their faces.

I'm not going to claim any "sources" but as long as the Phils refuse to part with Utley, Madson, Floyd and Hamels, and only dangle Ryan Howard (who doesn't even rank on baseball america's top 100), they won't get anything near the level of Baldelli, Zito, Oswalt or even Benson.

I found this very interesting, here's how baseball america breaks down the top 1B prospects:

FIRST BASEMEN (8)

10. Prince Fielder, Brewers

15. Casey Kotchman, Angels

16. Justin Morneau, Twins

42. James Loney, Dodgers

51. Jason Stokes, Marlins

52. Adrian Gonzalez, Rangers

73. Adam LaRoche, Braves

79. Michael Aubrey, Indians

I think it's safe to say that Howard has moved up on that list with the year he is having. Definitely ahead of Stokes at least.
