Bob predicts a 3-1 Marlins win

I will be there!!

I personally would expect more runs tonight all round, but it would be great if Josh could hold them to just one run. :)

Yahoo! Sports Game Preview

In the midst of another late run for the postseason, Miguel Cabrera and the defending World Series champion Florida Marlins will try to continue feasting on the New York Mets as they resume a four-game series at Shea Stadium.

The Marlins, who went 18-8 last September en route to capturing the NL wild card, have won four in a row and seven of nine to move within four games of the wild card-leading Chicago Cubs.

``It's nice if you win seven or eight or nine in a row. We haven't done that this year,'' Marlins manager Jack McKeon said. ``Maybe it's time to get into our September push.''

Cabrera hit a two-run homer and finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs in Monday's 6-4 win over the slumping Mets, helping Florida climb five games above .500 for the first time since June 29. The 21-year-old right fielder is batting .354 (17-for-48) with three homers, four doubles and 16 RBIs against the Mets this season.

The Marlins have taken 10 of 13 meetings with the Mets this year, and have six more to play with New York.

Florida also has six big games remaining with the Cubs -- the team it beat in last year's NL championship series -- including a three-game set following their visit to New York.

``I like our chances,'' Marlins left-hander Dontrelle Willis said. ``We're definitely on a roll.''

Mike Piazza homered in his return to the lineup Monday as the Mets lost for the third straight time and eighth in their last nine games.

Piazza, sidelined since Aug. 6 with inflammation in his left knee, played first base and finished 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

``It felt good, definitely, to be back,'' Piazza said. ``I felt I had a couple of good swings tonight, and it was good to get one over the wall. Hopefully, I'll keep it going.''
