Posted July 3, 200321 yr So I sent my email(s) to him yesterday. The main point of my emails was why drag down your own local team in the papers? More questions for him really than just ranting. The worst thing I said to him was something like, "shup the hell up" or something like that. This was his response: JD, Letters like yours just make you want to write some more. Thanks for the pep talk. Mike Berardino What an a**
July 3, 200321 yr Well what did you say to him? Of course he is going to comeback like that if you went off on him...
July 3, 200321 yr Best thing to do with Berardino is stop reading him. stop your Sun-Sentinel delivery, when the ask you why, say Berardino's MArlins comments suck. They will ge the message.
July 3, 200321 yr Author Well what did you say to him? Of course he is going to comeback like that if you went off on him... I didn't just sit there and blast him or anything. Basically i said his comments aren't helping attract new fans to an already troubled franchise. I asked him why he was so negative and thats about it. There was no reason for an a**hole response.

July 3, 200321 yr Well I sent him a pretty calm, rational email, not bashing him just wanting explanation for why he would take such a negative stance when a positive thing had just happened. The response he gave me wasn't much better than yours. He addressed none of the points I made, or even made an attempt at backing up his article. Just said I needed some perspective. My guess is that he's gotten so many emails, he's gotta keep the replies short just to be able to respond to them all. lol
July 3, 200321 yr There was no reason for an a**hole response. uh...J if you told him to "shut the hell up" I'm not surprised with the response.
July 3, 200321 yr Someone send him a POSITIVE E-Mail saying how much they enjoy his writing and we'll see the response...
July 3, 200321 yr good point by a caller..... we've got 9 games left (before the All-Star break) & 5 pitchers. At this rate, Willis will be the only pitcher to throw 1 more game. Maybe they should shuffle the staff around & skip Pavano or Penny instead & get 2 starts in from D-Train? They've got this Thursday and next Thursday off also.
July 3, 200321 yr Mike made a good point though... They won't skip someone to pitch Dontrelle, and because of that he could have a chance to start the AS game...
July 3, 200321 yr I'm listening as well. . . Who from this forum just called in regarding his article on Mike Lowell?
July 3, 200321 yr Only because he will probably be the freshest arm on the team. He'll have had the most rest...
July 3, 200321 yr I'm listening as well. . . Who from this forum just called in regarding his article on Mike Lowell? That's what I'm thinking...
July 3, 200321 yr Who from this forum just called in regarding his article on Mike Lowell? Why, did we get a plug? :w00t
July 3, 200321 yr No, but the caller basically said he like Mike's articles, but thought his last one on the lowell "situation" was somewhat tasteless and unnecisary... He also said he got a lot of E-Mails from readers about it...
July 3, 200321 yr nah, but he made the same point we've been making. He's sticking to his points. Although it sounds like he's eased up a little since the article. Maybe the article just came across a little harsher than he intended. Ah, who cares anyway.
July 3, 200321 yr Ah, alright. I'm sure Mike checks this place out as well so he knows full well about the feelings of the fans here.
July 3, 200321 yr Ah, alright. I'm sure Mike checks this place out as well so he knows full well about the feelings of the fans here. I bet you a lot of people actually do... i wouldn't be suprised id Samson or Loria were guest trollers that want feedback on things...
