ALL STAR VOTING IS B.S.

Featured Replies

Give me a break!

Have you ever seen an All-Star team where everyone who deserved to go got the call?

NO!! Because it never happens!

They are required to have at least one representative from every team, and that makes it difficult. And the fact that there are so many deserving people makes it harder.

If the roster was expanded to 50, you'd still be whining about certain players not making it.

Several Marlins are deserving, but Lowell is going and he is probably the MOST deserving.

If you want it different, then go back to the days when fans did not vote at all. Let the sports writers and players pick the guys. It didn't completely work then, it works even less now.

Get over it, and enjoy the game.

CGator, many deserving don't end up going, but we had 2 AS's on a worse team last season, and this year we had 4 guys who were legit candidates, and 1 made it. 3 guys on one team were snubbed.

I'm still baffled about Mike Williams getting in over Brian Giles.

It comes to a choice between an underrated closer and an outfielder that spent part of the year on the DL.

And OF is always an overpopulated position when it comes to All-Star selections.

um by the numbers we had the same record as last year after 88 games

so on paper, we werent better

Yeah... but Rondell White got in over another more deserving pitcher on his team Jake Peavy. So it all would have worked out but oh well, it's not my decision.

I don't think Peavy can be there and not Webb or Dontrelle there, though...

True, but the Padres have to have a player, so that makes it tough.

That's a ridiculous statement!

Because they had more last year, they should have more this year?

You do realize there are other teams with other players in the NL, right?

What about the AL? Don't you think TB fans are wondering why the hell Carter went instead of Huff or Baldelli?

Most of the teams in the majors have fans that are complaining right now.

Blame the fans for their voting, that is where it begins. When they vote for the people on their team, rather than the most deserving players to start a game, that leaves less roster spots for other teams.

But to expect that a certain # of guys HAVE to go, and then be po'ed that they didn't is just crazy. It is a normal part of the All-Star selections.

I'm still wondering that as well...

I now view this game as a meaningless disgrace.

Any different than last year's tie?? :whistle

There is always going to be something wrong with the selections. There always has been, there always will be.

It is baseball. It is the All-Star game. It is a 3 day vacation for 90% of the players.

It is bulls***...there is no reason why DW shouldn't be at this years all-star game.

He is a great pitcher that has the attention of the whole league. Forget this all=star game,he's still our star and he'll continue to give the marlins the spark we need to get to the playoffs.

At least alot of Yankees got left out, like Jeter, Clemens, Giambi, and Mussina. That I thank, despite the unbelievable Willis snub.

What a disgrace. D.I.S.G.R.A.C.E.

There are 4 pitchers who have more wins than Willis. 4. And he was a late call up. Mike Williams has an ERA over 6, Dontrelle has one at nearly 2. Alex could have gone also. Even Pudge was worthy by now. 7 BRAVES IS A JOKE.

It's a joke. A damn joke. I hope the team uses it as motivation and goes out & stomps the rest of the league.
