December 17, 200421 yr Now, that is truly a blockbuster. Arizona did very very well. Arizona got screwed on the deal. They have a way overpaid Shawn Green and a hurt Brad Penny, while the Dodgers get a healthy Javier Vazquez, a top catching prospect, and plenty of cayshe to sign Beltran. I think the Dodgers made out like bandits on this deal.
December 17, 200421 yr If this goes through, the freakin' D-backs just got a heck of a deal. And the Yankees have no farm system now.
December 17, 200421 yr Billy Beane's troops are working some great deals. Too bad the Blue Jays are in the Yanks division. Dodgers do incredibley well.

December 17, 200421 yr Not yet...Peter Gammons on Hot stove now Doesn't believe this deal will work, but still thinks Randy is a Yankee next year.
December 18, 200421 yr Yep this isnt OFFICIAL.. Fourth team getting involved to try and make this work.. St. Louis Cardinals.. Hmm.. I could actually see them trying to get Javier Vazquez and Alex Cora.. It would make sense!
December 18, 200421 yr I think Shawn Greene holds up this deal by not waiving his no trade clause. 637711 I don't know why he'll want to stay in LA, he will be the offense, that is a lot of pressue. At least in Arizona he'll have Glaus and Gonzo/

And Cali is not all that far away from Arizona. I just think if the deal goes through as it is as proposed Az. would at least have the same chance if not a better one than the Dodgers. /Has been riding the D'Backs and Braves wagons all offseason and is not stopping now.
December 18, 200421 yr Isn't Green originally from Cali anyways? 637736 Born: November 10, 1972, Des Plaines, IL

December 18, 200421 yr UPDATE: The New York Daily News Reports: The deal has been agreed to in principle. Shawn Green and Randy Johnsons no-trade clauses have been waived. Passing physicals are the only pieces that remain. The deal now also includes Kaz Ishii who will be going to the Yankees. Javy Vazquez will also not be in Dodger blue for long, as its likely he'll be immediately dealt to the Chisox. *EDIT* Sorry no link, but I just heard it on the radio. Ill try to find one. *EDIT AGAIN* Found it. http://nydailynews.com/sports/story/263178p-225322c.html
