I thought it was an ecstatic "OMG! YES! THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!" post, as we're all familar with, when the Marlins re-acquired Jeff Conine.

 

Turns out it was a criticism of Randall Simon for his low on-base percentage. Some things never change.

 

I love d.lee but we need offense.

then why would you want Simon?

His on-base percentage is way too low for his slugging percentage to mean much.

 

 

The Marlins need a decent back-up outfielder, not a slow-footed corner infielder.

Is Alyssa Milano blind? I mean there are better looking players on THIS TEAM besides Carl. I mean I like the guy and all despite the heart attacks he gave me. I think she'd do a little better with AJ or Redmond. HAHAHA....Redmond and Milano....just made myself laugh.

 

PS: Misty May, the sultry woman's volleyballer is with that guy Treanor. So the whole team is big pimpin it....

That was a great read...That guy has always been one of my favorite players. I hope he continues to play well in Col unless he is paying the marlins

People in Portland, Maine where the Marlins had their AA club loved John Henry and jumped when they could become a Sox farm team.

Seriously, the entire atmsosphere at Hadlock Field has been destroyed with the Red Sox affiliation and the Maine "Monstrosity" in left field. Besides, most of the teams in the Eastern League are in "Red Sox Nation" :wacko : , and so there wasn't any justification for moving the Red Sox team there.

 

So, I thank John Henry not only for destroying Marlins baseball, but the Sea Dogs as well. :banghead

Of course, I'd been a lurker for years before I posted.

Ok, please tell me if i am wrong...There is no perfect stat because there is a way around every stat...I do not think pitchers should be judged on stats, but rather on video of his starts...ERA can be affected by defense, even though it is designed to prevent unearned runs, BAA is not a good indication because of bloop hits, and, if im not mistakin, errors can bring a BAA down for a pitcher, which could lead to assumption that the pitcher is unhittable. All i am saying is that there is no perfect stat.
