July 21, 200323 yr Watching the Cards/Dodgers game as we speek, Burnitz is 2-2 with 2 HR and 3 RBI so far. He's so intense and looks like he's already a well liked guywith his teammates, He's left handd, good in the OF , strong arm, 20 HR. The dodgers didnt give and top tier prospects to get him either.
July 21, 200323 yr Sea bass, calm down. It wasn't worth it for us. We would have had to give the Mets alot of prospects and Burnitz wasn't exactly the surest thing on earth. Admin has something up his sleeve coming up. Lowell coming back will help greatly.

July 21, 200323 yr I think you just have to wait it out for the next week or so and if we struggle trade away the players we can't afford to keep so we can at least contend next year. The only problem is how the fans will react to this kind of thing.

Honestly, i think we should have only one leadoff-type player in the lineup, we don't need Castillo AND Pierre. We should just keep Pierre. I'd like to put him in some kind of deal before the deadline, i don't think it would affect things that much. I have yet to see a major league team in my lifetime win games by replacing power with speed, especially these days. I'd rather add a power bat in a potential Castillo trade. Maybe some people will disagree, but we'd be better off with more homers or better pitching than a fast second baseman. I would agree with the Rondell White deal that was mentioned earlier.
