Cabrera may have been brought up pre-maturely, but we needed him. But watch him, he has the confidence and right amount of cockiness to play at this level, even if only as a utliity player. A down-grade to AAA is not going to help him. He's ready physically and mentally to play with the big boys. Why insult his ego by sending him down? Enough Fantasy Baseball. Let's develop what we have.

hey arnie, its been a while............

thats all i have to say :lol :p :thumbup

lets see.....

cabrera is hitting in the .220s

thats all you have to see.

championship contenders cannot afford to have 20 year olds starting in left field.

cabrera should be in AAA, where he belonged all along.

He needs to play everyday.

In AAA.

if we get a leftfielder(White,Guillen) he will go down.

We cant develop talent in the major leagues while in a wild card race.

That's true. But you have to consider his age and inexperience down the stretch, especially if you get into a wildcard/pennant race/chase. And I don't think Cabrera is psychologically ready for such a test, yet...

I agree with Das.

Nice to see the Boynton contingent back on the board. Welcome back Arnie.

Now that the niceties are out of the way.... Are you nuts???? If cockiness gets you a .220 BA then I don't want cockiness.

AAA may not be the place for him right now. But one thing is for sure, MLB is definetly not the place for him right now.

Bring him back on the expanded rosters in Sept.

i agree with fillet, thats been happening a lot more than usual recently... :huh  :wacko :

He does have some decent RBI numbers for such a low average....

He needs plate disipline. He's got a nice looking swing, just needs to wait for better pitches.

too bad confidence doesnt mean getting hits...

send him down, and trade for JOSE, JOSE, JOSE , JOSE(sung to the ole song)

Jose got a homerun last night....

i know we all want Jose ( for the most part)

...but is this deal being considered within the Marlins front office or just the board? :mischief2

Im sure Beinfest is looking at all available options

besides the low average, cabrera has quite a few rbi's for the little time he's spent here. i wonder what his average is with RISP

Cabs doesnt need to be in AAA. I know Im just repeating what I said on another thread, but what will sending him to AAA do for him? Nothing. All it will do is babysit him while we try making the playoffs. Is that a good way of handling him? I'm gonna give a little hint: NO!

He doesnt need to be playing everyday right now, but he definitely needs to be getting at-bats.

Oh, and for whoever said "Cabrera is hitting in the .220s. Thats all you have to see" must look at some other numbers then.....like maybe .215. Thats all you need to see to send Brian Banks down. Or .210 to send Andy Fox down. Or .198 to send Mordecai down. Do I think we should send Fox or Mordecai down? No, because they are subs for Luis and AGon. But, I'd much rather send Banks down instead of Cabrera.

It's a win-win situation for us. We have the option of sending down Cabrera, so he can pad stats in AAA, and spend next season adjusting to MLB pitching AGAIN. It will also put Banks in as the #4 OF who has worse batting #s than Cabs. Or we can send Banks down, because he is not the better prospect of the 2, and will not help the team as much as Cabs will.

This should be a no- brainer.

P.S. His OPS is higher than Redmond (who maybe should not be on our roster) and Banks (who should get sent down before Cabrera).

P.S. Again: His BA with RISP is .304 and he has a .955 OPS with RISP.

So you would argue that with no RISP Cabs pees himself, but with RISP he becomes a beast? :(

Thank you. He belongs.

Willie Mays was 20 years old when he was playing on a contending team and starting and getting the job done.. on da 52 giants i think...

Miggy is good enough, and he belongs..... i know you people didnt Xpect him to come up and be Jim f***ing Edmonds did ya???

he has shown signs of greatness, and signs of Strugglement...

but we knew what we were prepared 4 when getting this guy... Hank Blaylock had the same probs last year when the rangers called him up

No...Cabrera don't belong.

He's only 20...he's not ready for big league pitching.

Willie wants him sent down to improve then return next year. :D

I simply gave the stat because someone asked for it.

But I do think great players play better in the ever-so-controversial term "clutch."

Maybe the adrenaline causes them to put more effort into it, maybe it is a true test of there talent (they put all their effort into a certain situation...say World Series instead of pacing themselves for 162 games).

Yea, but Hank was not in a contending team last year.
