the hitting has been pathetic. Lowell, Cabrera, Castillo, even Delgado. This goes back to last year with me. Is it too early to fire anybody of course, but Bill could be on the Hot Seat come the end of May. Yesterday game was flat out embarassing.

And could someone tell Lowell its April not August :plain

You tell us if he is on the hot seat insider. Lowell is the one I am worried about. He had a terrible spring.

let just say if things don't change Jack won't be the one being let go.

Whats the worst that could happen if we fire Robinson?

We are not hitting anyway :crying

Exactly.

Firing Bill Robnson would only do good.

If only Tony Gwynn were availible.

Teach these bastards to hit the ball to all fields.

They are trying to pull the ball to much.

I wouldn't necessarily put Cabrera or Delgado in that group, but yes Lowell looks totally lost at the plate. He's swinging at the first pitch with half-hearted swings. He needs to be a bit more patient and stay back on the ball.

If you look at the overall team BA at .267 vs opponents .199 you have to wonder how could we possibly have a losing record? Our pitching has been lights out and overall the hitting is there.

Until you look at hitting in key situations:

RISP - .247 - a bit of a drop off

RISP, 2 Outs - .263 - about our average

Close and Late - .176 - we aren't hitting when it counts.

Lowell - 0/6

Castillo - 0/4

Harris - 0/1

Cabrera - 1/7

Pierre - 1/6

Gonzalez - 1/6

Encarnacion - 1/4

Easley - 1/4

LoDuca - 1/5

Delgado - 2/5

Gonzalez 1/6

Also, we are 0/3 in 1 run games and 0/3 in extra innings.

Don't bet on that!

It's really the whole heart of the order. Cabrera, Delgado, & Lowell haven't performed like we need them to. We can afford a slump from one of them, but not all three.

Last 3 games the three are 2-28, with the only 2 RBIs coming from sac flies.

Lowell's 2 for his last 26.

This is Jack's last year. I wish him well. Baseball needs some non-steroidal dinosauers. Bring back the traditions and integrity of the past. Jack does it best. He ain't perfect. Who among us is?

He will leave an imprint on the game. None of us will.

2006 we'll have a new Manager, Hitting Coach, and 3rd Base Coach.

And a seasoned, disciplined line-up ready to explode.

comment_475024

i think we have two guys right under our noses that would serve as excellent hitting coaches.

1. andre dawson

2. tony perez

bill robinson can go bowling for all i care...

if we're under .500 in may, bill won't be the only one on the hot seat

yeaht they're gonna fire mark wiley too for the team not hitting :banghead

comment_475025

Not all of the players last year relied on Robinson the entire season, some of them went to Tony Tavarez, and it got him fired.
