ESPN Game Recap

One of Burnett's fastballs was clocked at 104 mph on the PNC Park scoreboard.

:o

And you know they're not inflating the number to impress the fans with the speed of the visiting pitcher's fastball. Probably a little inaccurate but still...that's insane.

Crazy.

During the FSN broadcast I saw it hit 101mph.

Don't forget that Craig's favorite thing to do during a broadcast is inform us of the velocitiy of pitches that come in fast. He does this because we can't see it on the top of the screen for ourselves, of course :plain

That's ridiculous.. and it looks like he does it so easily.

I doubt he hit 104. But i saw that he hit 101.

I wonder as a closer how far would it reach. Imagine one of those Billy Wagner fastballs followed by one of his badass knuckle curves.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a closing role in the latter part of his career.

I hope this is a sign that the elbow inflamation is nothing to worry about

AJ would have you think so, Quick.

What the... :o

The home team was probably pumping up the gun for Oliver Perez to give the fans something to cheer about... little did they know Burnett can reach 100 without the help

and after that reading they turned off the radar gun to recalibrate it and it went back to "only" 99 and 100mph.

you know what the B.S thing about this is Aj is not getting the recognition, Nolan Ryan Hit 104 back in the Day and everyone consider that Legit...well not everyone but, They barely had Colored TV back then with the technology today its probally accurate

Prob bc Nolan Ryan was THE flamethrower of his era, now guys that throw in the high 90s is everywhere

also back then speeds on the gun werent in question as much as they are today; its common knowledge now that those things arent always accurate
