June 2, 200521 yr No hitting No pitching and now... no defense. It is surely the end of the world for the Marlins Sorry for being the pessimist. :mad just really ticked off right now.
June 2, 200521 yr but we are still in first place and there are still 4 months left 792344 We -were- in first place. Atlanta has tied Washington after seeing how bad we were losing. And if they lose today, we have to win tomm. So don't count on 1st place for much longer.
June 2, 200521 yr I also hate to be a pessimist, but usually a slump involves slumping in one area. But our pitching is gone, our hitting is gone, and we can't field anymore. We are looking like the NY Yankees during the first 3 weeks of this season. I hope to God this is just a funk we are in and we will soon come out of it like a bat out of hell. But I have this very bad feeling that we have reached our peak for the season. I think the players are all just very upset that there is no positive outlook on the new stadium deal. The last week has made me feel terrible.
June 2, 200521 yr Its makin me so sick how many games we have lost because our piece of s*** offence cant score any runs it makes me sick 2 my stomach we could me in 1st place right now by like 5 wins
June 2, 200521 yr I can't figure this out. We have a lot of talent on our team. How can everyone suck at once? Does everyone have the flu or something? Please just tell me they are all sharing the flu and that everything will be alright in a few days.
June 2, 200521 yr Hey every team goes through their hot and cold streaks. Do we dare look towards the Yankees as an example? :mischief2
June 2, 200521 yr Its that horrible hitting couch Bill Robinson he should just leave our team and never show his face again hes horrible, we might as well put in a blind hitting couch
June 2, 200521 yr I think Lowell's slump is contagious. 792445 or maybe the hitting coach is clueless causing our team to slump.
June 2, 200521 yr Is Jack having an affair with bill robinson or somethin he should have been fired a long time ago
June 2, 200521 yr The worst part of it all is that we're losing to the METS and PIRATES. Not the sign of a champion.
June 2, 200521 yr The worst part of it all is that we're losing to the METS and PIRATES. Not the sign of a champion. 792495 Mets have a pretty good team and are considered contenders by most.
June 2, 200521 yr The pitching hasn't fallen apart, this was Moehler's first poor start the entire season. AJ didn't pitch terribly yesterday, although he did fall back into that habit of throwing nothing but straight fastballs all night. Leiter's been awful but pitched better his last start, and Beckett and Dontrelle have both been good. The problem is driving in runs. We're near the bottom of the league. Personally I attribute most of it to Mike Lowell. I thought I saw a stat they showed tonight which showed a huge % of our losses are by 1 or 2 runs. Not sure exactly what the stat was but regardless, 10 or 15 more RBIs from Lowell could've meant a few more wins. Also do not overlook the coincidence that our defense hasn't been good during this losing stretch. When you're not scoring runs you sure as hell can't afford to give up freebies, & we've done it lately.
June 2, 200521 yr I think we will have just an okay june at best. I think they need to change the hitting coach, I said that last year! Kansas did that this year,(2 days ago) when they were playing bad they took action. The marlins, well they seem to just stand there thinking that its going to get better. Remember.... when we won 6 in a row in mid may, when we got alot of our runs in the 6th inn, before that, even then, we sometimes would not have a hit until the 5th or 6th inn.So I tell you now, MOST of our hitters are in some kind of slump. Im starting to think that we are one of these teams that have one or two great hitters, and the rest are in a long term slump. If the marlins dont do something soon, the marlins SHORT to MID term outlook might be bleak. And if you dont think so, tell me, how long did it take last year to break out of that slump. (did we ever?)

But point well taken......and you guys don't stink, get rid of Mike Lowell and your hitting coach, and get JP going and you'll be fine.
