The numbers don't lie, folks. Jack is usually gone by the third year because long-term his teams underperform.

He hasn't coached a losing team since 98' and has 9 winning seasons in 14 seasons in the past.

Not so bad.

I'm laughing now, but with our luck they would. Ozzie Guillen would have been nice, but he's entrenched in Chicago.

3 of the last 4 seasons he managed (counting this year), his team was seen as underachieving. He was fired from Cincy after having a better winning percentage than last year or this year. He was even manager of the year in 1999, but that didn't stop the Reds from feeling he wasn't getting it done in 2000.

I vaguely recall part of the reason for Jack's dismissal from Cincy involving Jr. I could be wrong but I remember something about that.

2000, 2004, and 2005. 2003 they were considered overachievers by everyone but us. :thumbup

The Marlins don't get respect and people don't think much out of them. It's a known fact. So going over .500 is not underachieving for the "Florida what"?

Marlins. :)

With the talent we have, we're underachieving.

I think he is deserving and will finish out the year, but he has to know his seat is hot. Not getting it done on the field and feuding with a team's vested stars. He was hired to be the tough guy following Jeff Torborg. Too tough or the players too thin-skinned, and the opposite move may have to occur.

who do you suggest replace him

797279[/snapback]

Mike Mordecai :notworthy

But I totally disagree that Jac should be fired.

Is this true what im reading? Jack should be fired?

Jack has been the BEST manager in Marlins history....

Jack deserves the shot to finish the season. I don't see how any of this is his fault anyway. But if the team doesn't turn around, I wouldn't be surprised if he retired at season's end.

sure, but in the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king. being the best marlins manager ever says nothing

On the "hot" seat. Do you really think it matters to McKeon.

When goings get tough, the tough get going. Like in 03, we went throught this type of slump in August and rebounded quite well. The vets showed the way.

We will see how the team responds and who doesn't. The team leaders (Harris and LoDuca) will lead the charge.

Dont be surprised if changes are made that may shock the team and it will not be in the coaching staff.

Big changes to come next year, I can feel it. Why we did not get Ozzie Guillen, I dont know, he was a big part of our 2003 season.

Ozzie wanted to manage and we didn't have an open position at Manager after 2003.

You guys would find Ozzie to be remarkably similar to Jack if you got him, so trust me, that's not what your looking for if you want a fresh start at the manager spot.

I can't even believe there is a conversation about this subject.

Poor bullpen management could get fans to want anybody fired....
