June 8, 200521 yr I just realized something, whomever replaces Robinson needs to know our hitters well enough. We need someone who has played against them enough and knows their weaknesses. In No Particular Order 1. Admin Bowa (Phils manager who scouted enough against Fish hitting...was successful against the Fish at one time) 2. Jimmy Williams (Astros manager who had mysterious sucess in getting even the most terrible pitchers to defeat the Marlins) 3. Jeff Torborg (Sure he managed the team, but he knows them well and he guided the Expos before coming down here and he is still friendly with the organization)
June 8, 200521 yr I don't think the F.O. is happy with how Bowa left them hanging in the offseason. Berardino would cream his pants if Torborg returned.
June 8, 200521 yr I doubt either Bowa or Torborg would even come to the Marlins. Jimmy Williams and McKeon both on the same bench? We need some youth in there like Eddie Murphy. BRING IN TONY GWYNN!
June 8, 200521 yr Seriously, would Tony Gwynn be interested in becoming a major league hitting coach? Because he would be great!
June 8, 200521 yr Andre Dawson and Tony Perez are already in the Marlins family!!! Either one would be great
June 8, 200521 yr This board is funny. Hire former managers for hitting coaches. Trade for former closers to be middle relievers. What's next? Signing Rey Ordonez to be a backup catcher?
June 8, 200521 yr Author Mordecai is another option. We need someone who can analyze the weaknesses of our hitters so they can adjust and close those gaps.
June 8, 200521 yr there is no way ever any of those three would really ever be qualified as hitting coaches. and i immensely hate two of them. the last is just a hothead.
