Willingham and Olsen recalled

Featured Replies

Does this mean Olsen will be the starting pitcher for Saturday's game in Tampa?

The guess was that Travis Smith would get the call, so I've gotta think it's now Olsen. Only other option is maybe to use Bump.

It has to be Olsen. When is the last time he started?

It's great they will give him at least one night with the team before he starts.

Manager Jack McKeon said Travis Smith would be the likely choice, unless the team promotes a Minor Leaguer.

Olsen has to get the start for Saturday.

Ramp hasn't replied yet because he is currently being treated for shock.

No, he is....

Or he's in New York, whichever

If the Marlins promote a Minor Leaguer, left-hander Scott Olsen from Double-A Carolina could be called upon to make his Major League debut.

Olsen, who pitched seven innings in a win on Sunday, is in line to throw on Saturday.

Yep, I was just looking it up.

He pitched 7 innings on Sunday in AA against Tennessee.

Gave up 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 walks, 9 strikeouts.

Good luck kid! :thumbup

feel bad for dillon, never got a chance to play and show what he could do. i just hope the same doesnt happen to willy.

at least joe has some fond major league memories, i guess

Great News.

I hope Willy plays asap. And Olse could be very good.

Where is Ramp? probably on his way to Tamp Bay :)

I'm guessing Willy can be the DH tomorrow.

My thoughts exactly. Unless they wanted to DH Niner or something, but might as well throw Willingham in there while you don't have to find a position for him to play.

Heck, DH him all weekend if he hits. And not to overdramatize things but it could almost be a sort of 3-game tryout, to see if he can force his way into more playing time and not just a pinch hitter.

good point, since we have an extra lineup spot, why not have a try out of sorts and see if willy can hit at the next level, whether it be for this team or as a showcase for other teams.

can willy play 3b?

can willy play 3b?
