July 31, 200521 yr I was thinking Carl Pavano but I'll go with Carl Pavano 881113 :notworthy :lol I'm going with Beltre. You don't go from being one of the top MVP candidates who hit .335, almost 50 home runs, and 120+ RBI to a player who shouldn't even be wearing a major league uniform.
July 31, 200521 yr Jim Thome has been a gigantic disappointment (well for philly fans)... .207 BA and 7 HR... ouch How about the Angels two off season acquisitions, Steve Finley and Orlando Cabrera. Hitting .229 and .243 respectively. Then you have Dallas McPherson who was supposed to be some sort of stud and he's batting .244. Triple ouch... yet they're in first place. Amazing
July 31, 200521 yr Adrian Beltre. Seattle was expecting a lot form him and payed him the big money after his monster year last year. This year he's been mediocre at best.
July 31, 200521 yr Beltran. $100 million players shouldn't be outproduced by Juan Encarnacion at the all-star break. That's just sad. However, Thome or Lowell probably had the most staggering dropoff, but you can't say it was totally unexpected. Lowell's been bad since last year's ASB, and Thome's back is the reason Cleveland wouldn't go long term with him...
July 31, 200521 yr Beltran and also christian guzman, damn is guzman hitting horrible. .190 batting average....
July 31, 200521 yr i agree that thome should be on that list. sammy, too. from the list, i gotta go with beltran. i never bothered to look at his numbers until now, but wow, those numbers are pitiful considering all the hype that surrounded his signing. oh yeah, and the beltre contract was pure idiocy. yeah, his numbers suck now, but they exactly mirror his career numbers. when was the last time a player somehow roided up his FA year and managed to keep up those numbers with his new team? that said, i wasn't expecting much from any of them--beltran, beltre, lowell, pavano, or wright. thome was the biggest shock.
July 31, 200521 yr The fact that Carlos Beltran is losing to Joe Crede in the HR category clinches his vote from me here.
July 31, 200521 yr IMO the Carlos Beltran fiasco was expected. Playing for the Mets seems to have that effect on a lot of players.

July 31, 200521 yr Beltre. Only because he's the only 1 of these mooks who is on my fantasy team. Well, Lowell was...but I cut him months ago. :plain
July 31, 200521 yr I was thinking Carl Pavano but I'll go with Carl Pavano 881113 :lol D'oh! to the person who made the poll.
August 1, 200521 yr Bret "suckitty suck suck" Boone, for being the guy i drafted to hit 35 Hrs and drive in 110 runs. See what happens when people stay off the juice? Amazing.
August 1, 200521 yr Scott Rolen could be a name thrown in these.. He wasnt exactly hitting before he got hurt anyways. 04: 142 G, .314 AVG, 34 HR, 124 RBI, 109 R; 10 ERRORS 05: 56 G, .234 AVG, 5 HR, 28 RBI, 28 R; 6 ERRORS - Woulda easily passed last year IMO.
August 1, 200521 yr At least Beltran is contributing good D and is starting to hit. Beltre is just 100% crap.
