January 19, 200620 yr Author He's going to be at Spring Training with the Marlins and he didn't ditch us. Just not much to write a journal about during the offseason. I've asked him to do a journal for 2006 ST but can not promise it yet.

He couldn't have been out of option years.. He was drafted in 2000 by the Cubs and it's 2006 now, so that's 6 years, not sure when the dates officially end and begin though.

He couldn't have been out of option years.. I don't believe you can be a 6 year minor league FA if you're on the 40-man. They just wanted him off it so they DFA'd him. I don't know the rules well enough to be certain, but I'd guess that's what it was.
