I think the article speaks for itself that this is just Moore being Moore. A lot of the criticism is a stretch, some of it, like the racism claim, is stoopid. After the storm hit, it appeared Mississippi had worse damage and NO has spared for the most part. I highly doubt the administration got together and decided to forget the black people.

September 8, 200521 yr Ok. The Lousiana leadership is full of stupidity. But its Lousiana so there isnt really any surprise there. There hasnt been anyone of any real ingelligence come out of there and into a major political position in I forget how long. To not even have a real plan when people in the private sector have said that it will happen there and when it does the city will be under water is just stupid. I love their constant reasoning, it will happen eventually but it wont happen today. God these people are stupid, and I guess its not really any shock that the citizens would have the same mentality, they did put those stupid idiots in positions of power. Did FEMA screw up? Yes. Who's fault is that? Bush. This isnt actually FEMA's job anymore, this is supposed to be a division of the Dept of Homeland Security, but then again that entire office is the stupidest and most unneeded office ever created in this nation. So its not really shocking that FEMA didnt know what to do, Bush has basically taken all the good that FEMA did under Clinton and destroyed it. Kinda like he has done with the EPA. Was Moore correct here? Some parts yes, others no. Why were there National Guardsmen ready in Mississippi and not Louisiana? Well thats becuase of the inept leadership in that joint. Should Bush have reacted sooner? Probably and we can go off on his constant vacations to Texas some other time. Clinton himself said it real well today, there will be a time and place to analyze this...now isnt the time, there are still people to save, although most at this point in NOLA are just morons who refuse to be saved. He said that a study was done on this very scenario toward the end of his term and he doesnt know what happened to it, cause he was soon out of office. This is where Bush has had many of his failures, he fails domestically in many ways, much like his father did. September 8, 200521 yr The people who deserve the most blame are the state and local officials Gov Blanco and Mayor Nagin everyone knew that this storm had the potential to be the storm of the century and they had no plan to evacuate people , no fortified sheltors with armed protection and relief supplies and on top of that they had no plan after the hurrican hit to deal with the flooding. Bush himself had little to do with the failure to mobilize help but his failure lay on his political intuition he gives the appearance of being asleep at the wheel and has done so since being re-elected. Personally i am ready to turn the page on the Bush presidency but the blame lays with the locals. Really i think it is counter productive to blame anyone for the freak hurricane , we cant beat mother nature no matter who is in office . Has anyone here ever worked for a federal govt organization? The orders dont come straight from the president, in fact the president does little to control the day to day affairs of the bureaucracy. You want to blame him for praising the president of FEMA, thats ok, but it doesnt add blame for the disaster. The local govt is at fault and all other attempts to put blame on a president ppl like moore hate are intangible.
