Posted September 24, 200519 yr As bad as things have gone recently, with all the doom & gloom, a win tonight would've put us back in it with all that happened around the league today. And yet again they just refuse to win. I suppose it was just Todd Jones' turn to stink it up today. Everyone else sure has taken a turn lately. Something's just fundamentally wrong with this team. They're too good to play this poorly. We have arguably the best duo of pitchers in baseball and arguably the best tandem of hitters. Gold glovers around the infield, .300 hitters all over the place, a 40-save closer, all kinds of veterans brought in to bolster the pen, a solid bench, IT'S JUST SO DAMMED FRUSTRATING. :banghead :banghead SERENITY NOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!
September 24, 200519 yr Sillies are winning again - what a comeback - now THAT is a team that WANTS it.
September 24, 200519 yr Not really. I wrote the guys off last weekend. This one hurts quite a bit less than the Phillies losses at home. The more you accept the season is over, the easier it is to watch these games.
September 24, 200519 yr Eight runs in the 9th before the first out, 4 errors, 10 runs total. This was nothing compared to that loss to the Phillies.
September 24, 200519 yr This game was another game Our season was over after the meltdown in Dolphin Stadium. We aren't even playing .500 ball, no fudamentals, no defense, our vets choking and not able to turn routine plays. the bullpen is a joke, that ain't the make up of a playoff team. At least Delgado has the right attitude; instead of looking for excuses, his comments were "if we go down, we are going down swinging"
September 24, 200519 yr The game against the Phillies was exponentially worse than tonight, but an L is an L.
September 24, 200519 yr The 10 run 9th tops everything, all time. This was hard to watch, but I kinda saw it coming. The bullpen has about just completely collapsed; nobody seems to get the job done. This was el golpe de gracia, in my opinion, ni el medico chino can help us now.
September 24, 200519 yr Come on guys look on the bright side........................ Umm.............. Anyone? :lol
September 24, 200519 yr We are pretty beat up and running more like an engine that's burning oil and belching smoke. It just never came together this year folks.
September 24, 200519 yr Even my friend who's a Mets fan said a win tonight would have put us back in it because Clemens looks questionable for his final 2 starts. It's tough...really tough.
September 24, 200519 yr Come on guys look on the bright side........................ Umm.............. Anyone? :lol The bright side is we'll do it better next year. Can't be worse than what we saw in the past week...
September 24, 200519 yr Serious question though: Are we even a lock to finish third in the division? I mean, after this week, I don't think we've even fully bottomed out yet. Another day when Delgado was the only player to show up in the run producing column, he can't knock in 3 every day...
September 24, 200519 yr The truth is this one did not top them all this one was just another example of a team that has become complacent and desperately needs to be broken up, We have some many loafers on our team Gonzalez and Encarcion are perfect examples they have nice stats but when in the clutch they always fail to come through. This team is pretty old at many spots and the old guys have phoned it in our middle aged bullpen hasnt come through in some time and our vets like Enc, Gonzalez , Lowell just havent come through, I am even going throw Burnett into the mix he has had a good season by his mediocre standards but when it counted he didnt come through. We are too old and too slow and have too many soft players while I have issues with Jack the failure of this team rest squarely with the vets of this team bye bye Mecir, Burnett, Valdez, Encarncion , Gonzalez , ahh too many to list DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT!!!!

The more you accept the season is over, the easier it is to watch these games. I agree to an extend this team has a way of sucking you back in , honestly after the Phillies game I came to grips with the season being over but with a 3-0 lead the astros lost , the phillies losing , you start to have hope. I am like a woman who continues to stay with a cheating husband I think it will change this time basically i am the Marlins b?tch !!! And the fact that i sent in my money for season tickets proves it !

I am like a woman who continues to stay with a cheating husband I think it will change this time basically i am the Marlins b?tch !!! And the fact that i sent in my money for season tickets proves it ! Interesting analogy that definitely works. Earlier this year I compared this to a guy that has a drop dead supermodel girlfriend that doesn't let him get any p@$$y. Everytime he's about to leave her, she teases him with a little hope that he's actually going to close on the deal, but once again, like every other time, she leaves him sore with no results. Well, I think that it's safe to say that the guy is going to finally get a new girlfriend, that is equally hot, but will take care of business.
September 24, 200519 yr Author Yeah I guess this one didn't really even come close to the Phillies game. Watching that one in the stands with my jaw on the floor, I must have completely wiped it from my memory already. :confused I don't think the team has quit though, or that they don't want it. Those are not words I would use for this team. They want to win & they work hard. Things just haven't been bouncing their way. If Jeff Francouer hits his ground ball a little harder, the Marlins turn the double play and they're out of the inning. If Langerhans' ball is hit a tiny bit closer to Castillo, maybe he makes the throw to 2nd & they get out of the inning. In Philly there were all these bloop and squib hits that just found openings. And the Marlins made some poor errors which compounded things. Sad to watch these guys limp down the stretch when you know they want to get back to the playoffs badly.
