So who's getting the 360?

Seeing as the consoles have become stripped down computers, I'll stick with my PC for now

It makes alot more sense to spend 300 bucks for a console, with broadband online gaming, and knowing that every game you buy will play without fault on the system, then paying 2,500 - 3,000 dollars to play the top computer games.

360 is hardly like the typical video game system either.

I considered getting a 360, but now I think I'll get a Revolution since the controller does seem rather awesome.

I'll probably get the 360 sometime early next year and stick with my Xbox for now. As for the DC, I loved it! Great games and the innovative memory card ruled. Long live Shenmue!

I loved the Dreamcast but I wouldn't consider it the best ever.

That article wasnt even about what was the best system, it was about what system had the best release...

I can find something better to spend $300 or $400 on.

I think the $300 is better spent investing in a computer. We all have a computer (obviously) so a $300 upgrade can signifigantly upgrade that machine

Still I think it came at a bad time. X box and PS2 followed too soon after.

I dont think that is what this article is getting at...it is looking just at the release.

The hype, the original games lineup, the features.

I remember being in 9th grade when that thing came out, the whole 9-9-99 thing go in alot of people's heads. It was a hot item.

Also, the dreamcast killed itself, PS2 didnt come out for more then a year later and XBox was two years later.

Dreamcast bombed because all of its "must haves" weren't anything great. Seaman, Shenmue...*yawn.* By the time fantasy star online or whatever it was called came out, the thing was good as dead.

It's a shame because I liked Dreamcast more than PS2 around the same time because I thought Sega made better games (especially fighting and sports games), but all the other stuff that PS2 and XBOX brought to the table appealed to the casual audience, and that ultimately did it in.

its too bad the sonic franchise died. in the 90s it was right there with mario.

DC died also because it was too easy to make bootleg copies since anyone with a CD burner could copy a game.

And Virtua Tennis is still the best tennis game ever

It felt like it didn't even have any games to copy.

Resident Evil 2, 3, Codename Veronica

Dino Crisis

Sonic Adventures

Virtual Fighter 3

Sega 2K sports series

Shenmue 1 & 2

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

Mortal Kombat Gold

Ready 2 Rumble

Crazy Taxi 1 & 2

House of the Dead 3

Yeah, you're right. There were no games on that console.

They still make them. They just rebooted it with "Shadow" the hedgehog about this badass hedgehog who runs fast named Shadow who is trying to figure out his past. It has guns and bosses, too.

dreamcast was a great console, it just didn't sell because after the failures of 32x, Sega CD, saturn, nobody wanted to have anything to do with any sega products

the N64 and Gamecube have both been crap, but Nintendo will always have their loyal following which is keeping them alive

I like my Cube better than an X-Box - more games. The only thing I'm missing on the Cube is the Final Fantasy series.

IMO SEGA has always made the best consoles. The support just wasn't always there, and ofcourse the marketing. But Megadrive/Genesis > SNES and DC > GC, PS2, Xbox

Is that for Gamecast? ... Gamecast? What's that, because there's a Gamecube and a Dreamcast, which one is it? ... I said it's a Gamecast!

-Malibu's Most Wanted

I remember wanting one because it had World Series 2K and that was my faovirte arcade game... but I heard it was hard as hell to play
