August 23, 200323 yr It's easy to be critical of a guy who's been our MVP this season BUT last night was not good. I'm not going to sit here and trash a player like Lowell BUT this has been Lowell MO in his career. second half disapperances. TIME TO STEP UP... I'm I wrong???
August 23, 200323 yr Edcanes, you are right. Lowell must step up in the run. There is no tomorrow for this team anymore, they have to make the playoffs because they are contenders and not a prospective contender anymore. We have been lucky that others have stepped up and things have gone our way, but this won't last forever. Lowell should break out in time for September with all the divisional play, which is where he does good.
August 23, 200323 yr Yea Mike Lowell has been in a big slump but he never hits good in the 2nd half. Last year did the same and broke out of it right by the ending of the season. I think he will bust out of it this series because we need his Clutch hitting...
August 23, 200323 yr Lowell kills our division, that is why he struggles at this time. No divisional pitchers that are very familiar. In September he should improve. This has been a breakout year for him since he was able to produce so much in the first half, he will coast until sept. when he gets back in gear.....almost there.
August 23, 200323 yr Agree 100% Ed. I know Lowell's carried this team at times this year, but now is no time to slump. They need his bat more than ever right now. Same with Pudge. These guys are the team leaders, so lead.
August 23, 200323 yr cut him Why do you always reply with cut him or release him? You know that no one on this board wants to release him, Not even a retard would do that to Mike Lowell. Just give him a day off or something.
August 23, 200323 yr Lowell, I-Rod, and Dontrelle have really been the main reasons for our success. The problem right now is that they are all slumping. But a slump is a slump, not the end, so they are going to break out of this sometime, hopefully soon. The good thing is A-Gon and Miggy have heated up again!
August 24, 200323 yr Why do you always reply with cut him or release him? You know that no one on this board wants to release him, Not even a retard would do that to Mike Lowell. Just give him a day off or something. WOW. It's called sarcasm, Einstein.
August 24, 200323 yr Author The bigger question here is "IF" Lowell continues this trend to fall asleep in the second half....IS he worth 7-8 million a year or more to keep him long term? I'm not going to answer this question till the end of the season to be fair to him and not overeact to this slump....BUT its something to think about
August 24, 200323 yr well, before the Rox series, Lowell was hittin .337 since the break..... he's just in a minor slump.... i hope

August 24, 200323 yr The other way it could go is he could beat the cover off of the ball against the Phils in September and then be named World Series MVP!
August 24, 200323 yr The other way it could go is he could beat the cover off of the ball against the Phils in September and then be named World Series MVP! I won't be shocked considering that the Phillies are in the NL East. Hopefully those games will mean something.
August 24, 200323 yr you cant win the WS in September No, but to get to October you have to win in September, right?
August 24, 200323 yr No, but to get to October you have to win in September, right? The Braves could lose all they want in September and still make it to October.
August 24, 200323 yr The Braves could lose all they want in September and still make it to October. Okay...For the Marlins, to get to October means to win in September! That's better, right?
