November 23, 200520 yr I personally think this needs to be pinned not only here, but in every forum on this message board. Sure, it's not all about the Marlins, but without them we wouldn't be here at all in the first place.
November 23, 200520 yr Talk to friends of yours that love the Marlins and get them involved as well. This should be restricted just by those of us who are on this website. Lets get the word out!!!
November 23, 200520 yr Tell me what you want out of town fans to do and we'll do it. I'll second that...also can someone resize that save the marlins image to fit for a buddy icon on IM
November 23, 200520 yr Tell me what you want out of town fans to do and we'll do it. Write to Mayor Carlos Alvarez and the legislature
November 23, 200520 yr I REALLY want a protest... but of course, keep it civil. We don't want trouble.
November 23, 200520 yr Okay, I have a car flag. I'm putting it up tomorrow!! Also I'll have all my AOL away messages say "SAVE THE MARLINS!!!!" so anyone who IMs me can see it (might not help but w/e). And I'll do a protest if I have to. You guys that have MySpace, please put the "Save the Marlins" pic there! GO MARLINS!!! KEEP 'EM IN FLORIDA!!!!
November 23, 200520 yr http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...showtopic=53594 We can start rallying the public by starting a petition.
November 24, 200520 yr Tell me what you want out of town fans to do and we'll do it. I'll second that...also can someone resize that save the marlins image to fit for a buddy icon on IMIt already fits mine, strange.
November 24, 200520 yr I think first and foremost, before protesting, we must call everyone you know in the government. Everyone. At every level. Call judges and bug them. Call Ileana, Lincoln, Mario, Kendrick Meek, everyone. Annoy the crap out of them. Tell them look, they're going to take our baseball team, and the local government isn't listening to the people. Please, get involved. Ileana is a big Marlins fan and should be sympathetic to our cause. If anyone has any connections in the media, let them know. Call in radio shows every chance you get, especially big AM stations like WQAM, The Ticket, and WQBA. Don't let this issue die. Let it keep simmering during the Holiday Season. Let's get a "All I want for Christmas is My Baseball Team" drive going, see if we can raise money through the actual community and put it towards the gap left in the stadium. It might not exactly get to the 100 million necessary, or whatever necessary to build on that site in Hialeah that has turned itself into the 'too good to be true' option of the month, but it'll get people's attention. Start plastering the Save The Marlins logo Da Bear 61 was so gracious to make everywhere. Know somebody famous? Tell them to intervene. Know a Marlins player? Tell them to yap up and talk to press. Know a businessman? Tell him to make a donation to the stadium fund. Know a priest? Tell him to get his congregration to pray, and pray, and pray. Anything and everything needs to be done at this stage. :notworthy We can do this guys! I am up for the protest... If we were to have one where might it be?
November 24, 200520 yr I think we should start with this..... Start making the flyers.... Thanks for creating How do we make them bigger? Oh we should go around and put these flyers on cars while they are in the parking lot. Usually everyone who has them on the car reads them (I do). :thumbup
