I'm going to go on Monday (or maybe tomorrow, are banks open?) and open up a new account at my bank. I'll connect it to paypal, so any and all donations can run through there and we can have a central source of money for the cause. We can purchase flyers and stuff with the money of course, but first and foremost would be that money going to the stadium.

 

 

I just sent Miri a long PM. Anyway, bottom line, I'll foot the bill for a domain name. We can get a pretty good hosting package for an average of $8.96 a month if we buy it for the year. Definitely we'll need donations via PayPal. Some years ago there was a save the Expos site where these guys just asked people to make pledges to buy the team. But it generated a lot of publicity. With a site where we offer VIABLE options (not buying the team) we could as well. Once it's up and running we call newspapers, radio, TV (I have an in at NBC 6 sports) and get them to publicize it. I just thought of something. If any of you are in or know a local band, make an announcement during shows about our campaign. Pass out flyers at shows.

The thing they did in PetCo was a great idea but we can't control it. We need to think of some sort of way of making a donation over a certain amount of money remembered that is also under our control. And yeah, we're definitely going to have more options than the Expos site especially since we don't really care to buy the team.

One of my friends works at the UPS store and she gets to make copies for free. She's also a Marlins fan so I'm going to ask her to make as many copies of the flyers as possible. I think a flyer with that image and important contact info should be good? I'm not in a local band but I am heavily involved with local music and am myself in the process of trying to start my own musical career. So basically, I'm cool with the local music stores. I'll ask them to help me hand out flyers. The next local concert sort of deal I do that doesn't require fancy wear, I'll wear a Save the Marlins tee. I'd post flyers all over my school, but the janitors would throw them out faster than I could put them up. I'll still try and pass them around. I'm excited about this, let's do this!

Before you do that, call in and ask them if it's okay with them to hand out these flyers. You'd never know, they may even offer to help our cause by announcements and whatnot.

Ive been to many concerts and ppl give out crap about there local bands all the time!! I think this would be good to get a word across to all those going to the concert

93 Rock concert would be a nice time for a "We Want A Stadium" chant. Events that have absolutely nothing to do with baseball (like, say, a college or professional football game!) are the best time to do this because it sends more of a message.

 

For all those that were going to the Panthers game on December 5th (the one postponed a while back because of Hurricane Wilma was about to hit that I think was October 22nd or something) we could start a "Let's Go Marlins" chant. Panthers fans won't be happy, but quite frankly the Marlins are more important.

LOL!! You know what the funny this is... Last night I was there and whent he panthers were getting killed 5-0 I was like LETS GO MARLINS!!!

 

As for the concert that a place were we can get a hold of a LOT of ppl in the area... Maybe take a petiton over there and get sigs...

We should also start openly campaigning to remove those at fault in the different levels of government from power, and to defeat them in any future election they may take place in. Nothing lights a fire under the ass of a politician in a democracy like threatening to vote him out.
