December 6, 200520 yr So where does Conine say he won't back? All I see is the article assuming he won't be.
December 6, 200520 yr So where does Conine say he won't back? All I see is the article assuming he won't be. it doesn't say that. Just more of Marlinsbaseball.com suicide watch.

December 6, 200520 yr The weird thing is that the words in Chass' column sound almost word for word what Conine said to Boog on the radio the other day. I do wonder whether Chass is picking up quotes from there or if he actually interviewed Conine? why don't you email him about it... also in the email why don't you share his sentiments about how you look forward for this team to be "young and exciting" just like Mr. Loria said. And i quoted that, i didn't actually interview him. FYI. i'd hate to get an email from you.
December 6, 200520 yr Conine says in this that we "added pieces" following the 2003 championship. Can't say I agree with that.
December 7, 200520 yr You couldn't say this enough: Jeff Conine is a class act, and the perfect role model for kids He'd be missed, but not returning is the right choice.
December 7, 200520 yr Can't they shell out the 2.4 mil to throw us a bone? sorry but divorse lawyers and mediation is very very expensive :whistle j.k M2003
December 7, 200520 yr It will be quite awkward for Conine to be on the team anyway. The average age will be less than 25 and he could be 9-10 years older than anyone else on the team.
December 7, 200520 yr Conine's best chance at playing time is here and it also gives his restaurant tremendous visibility. If I was one of his partners in the restaurant I'd be lobbying him big-time to stay.
December 7, 200520 yr Well, tomorrow's the arbitration deadline, if he's offered, then it's almost a no-brainer he stays, because I have a hard time seeing a team surrendering draft picks for him...
December 7, 200520 yr Conine's best chance at playing time is here and it also gives his restaurant tremendous visibility. If I was one of his partners in the restaurant I'd be lobbying him big-time to stay. He's got partners in the restaurant? Some chef? He doesn't need partners. He's a millionaire.

I don't know about partners, but he is at least partnered up with one guy. Conine's partner was interviewed as part of a segment they aired on Marlins On Deck last season.

You've spent the better part of the week insulting me. And that's right, as usual you had no idea...just like you have no idea what you're alking about most of the time. From now on the gloves are off.

The two statements I made after the two questions were opinion. I'm not the only one that you're having issues with. Everyone else here thinks you've been a dick. You went from being a thoughtful poster to an ass.
December 7, 200520 yr Everyone needs to calm down. Everyone needs to take some time off from the Marlins board and relax. It seems like a lot of you haven't slept or eaten in days and are getting abit edgy and cranky.

You went from being a thoughtful poster to an ass. His partners are two professional restaranteurs who came to Conine with the concept. I haven't changed, it you fools who spend all day creating these conspriracy and nutso economic theories.
December 7, 200520 yr Conine says in this that we "added pieces" following the 2003 championship. Can't say I agree with that. Conine's a class act. Supportive of his teammates. He may not be absolutly happy about the situation, but you won't see him go all Mike Lowell and question the talent of other guys.
December 7, 200520 yr I just punched a hole in wall after reading this. Mother F^%$*#! Conine is really prob. not gonna return. So sad, so sad. Damnit, NOOOOOOOOOO, this really is upsetting. Mr. Conine you are legend. You are Mr. Marlin! We love you Niner. So long....... And so our last link to 93 is forever gone. So so so sad, SO damn upsetting :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :thumbdown :mad
December 7, 200520 yr That's one of many things Conine will have to consider. He'll also have to consider living away from his home and business. And whether he wants to be competiting for a job on a championship contender.
