no I throw righty....It would be nice to throw lefty, but I would have problems throwing out runners at third.

Im a pull-ball hitter.

No it's definitely good that you are a righty thrower.... you'd be crossed off the list if you were lefty thrower, no team wants a lefty catcher... Goodluck dude

I called the Florida Marlins, and I recieved some info. Here is the info for those who are interested.

They will BE holding a 1day "camp/tryout". It will be on March 3,2006, and it will be at there Jupiter Spring Training field. Theres a catch though. It will be up to age 24. So I guess they must be going for a YOUNG approach. I left a message with the Assistant Scounting Director, and hopefully he gets back to me. I am 26, so that counts me out if true.

I hope this helps anyone.

I feel you man..that was a shot in the gut when I heard that. Hopefully I get a call back, in hopes there will be one for older individuals.

It's actually started by a guy who made it to the Marlins system after being away from the game for a while.

Wow...in that case I must be crazy. I was almost positive there was a no-name pitcher for us who caught on at a tryout.

How was Joe Strong signed?

Strong was signed as a minor league free agent in 2000. He had been pitching as a professional since 1984, when he was drafted by Oakland.

Wow man.. that really sucks. I haven't played in years and I'm 28, so this makes me feel very old. I tried out for a college team years ago when I was about 21. After the tryout, the coach pulled me aside and told me to get into some more competitive leagues and come back. They said they could tell that I play, but lost a step or two... I never played again after that and I kick myself in the ass every day... Every time I hear there's a MLB tryout, I consider it, but never actually go. Hearing this news, makes me feel old... Keep looking man. Even if it's for the D-Rays... Don't give up... You at least have to give it a try.
