Daytona 500

Featured Replies

I know we have some racing fans on the board. I'm really pumped up for today's race, going to have a few people over to watch it with me should be alot of fun.

I'll be rooting for Jimmie Johnson as I always do. He has fared well at Dayton in the past. I think he has 6 top 10s here.

If I was betting on the race, my money would be on the defending champion Jeff Gordon. With some consideration given to Mark Martin and Carl Edwards.

Who are you rooting for?

Who do you think will win?

I'm so excited!

I'm rooting for Sterling Marlin and Jeremy Mayfield.

I think Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart will win.

I'm pretty pumped about the race as well. Been counting down the days to Daytona for a good while now.

Will be rooting for Dale Jr as always.

I think Bobby Labonte brings Petty back to victory lane in Daytona. Just one of those gut feelings

If I were betting, I would probably go Gordon or Tony Stewart though.

(on a side note...I hate Jimmie Johnson, the man has won all three races I've ever been to)

I just hope they don't drive like idiots...last thing this race needs is a 28 car pile up on the 20th lap. We all know there's going to be one eventually tho :confused . There are a ton of rookies/sophomores in this race and a lot of vets who drive who tend to drive stupid(Robby Gordon).

I don't have a reason to watch. Rusty is out...

BTW, is anyone taking over the Miller Lite car? I know his son is a damn good driver.

PS--It was Miller Lite, right? I dont' remember if they changed last year...

Kurt Busch.

I'll be rooting for the rednecks to be out of Central Florida.

BA-ZING!!!!!

Actually, I don't care who wins. I just want it to be over. A fight would be cool too.

If you like fights, you should watch the 1979 Daytona 500 on SPEED channel. They replay it every now and then.

I'll be rooting for Mark Martin as always. He's got 1 more shot to finally win the Daytona 500, and hopefully he can do it.

I went to the truck race and IROC race on Friday which is always fun.

I'm rooting for a Dodge, don't care who's driving.

That being said, we're minutes from the most unprofessional call in all of sports: "Boogity, boogity, boogity! Let's go racin' boys."

Actually they do that on Fox, the race is on NBC. :thumbup

Good.

Call makes my skin crawl.

I'm rooting for Michael Waltrip, he makes me laugh and I can do a spot-on impression of him (and I was informed he drives a Dodge now). :thumbup

Yeah, they'll do it at the next race though (California)

Oh that's easy. Just say Dominos Pizza, Coca-Cola, Ritz Crackers, Napa, Dodge Charger. :lol

The KEY is the lisp, though. And then, if you're doing the Speed Channel version of Michael you have to slow it down like you're thinking real hard and sound confused/conflicted.

:lol :lol LMAO - sounds like you got it.

Sweet - F-22's. Fergie did an alright job singing that National Anthem. I think she got a little over ambitious at the end

At least she didn't wet herself.

I dunno. I just never liked anyone enough to watch other than Rusty.

I hurt.

Back to full speed at The Great American Race.

It's on NBC y'all.

Man is it bad at Daytona, look at the haze:

The Hendrick cars are getting stronger with Vickers and Johnson running 1-2 and Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon not running far behind. Hopefully Dale Jr can get back on top as he currently runs 6th.

Congrats on the win, Passion. Jimmie Johnson is your 2006 Daytona 500 Champion.
