Just received my first negative feedback on eBay

Featured Replies

On eBay I sold a Brett Hull autographed picture that was framed, well the glass broke in transit and ended up damaging the picture. I sent the package by FedEx Ground and insured it for the FULL amount of the winning bid, the buyer never contacted me to let me know that the item was damaged, never contacted me for a refund, nothing... he just leaves me negative feedback without even trying to contact me to resolve the issue. I would have been GLAD to immediately refund him his money from Paypal and would have filed a claim with FedEx that it was damaged. Packages are insured for situations just like this, yet he makes no effort whatsoever to even inform me that the package was damaged so I could file a claim with FedEx.

I'm really ****ing pissed because I have a lot of items listed on eBay for sale right now, and now i'm pretty much screwed because no one will buy anything after seeing my negative feedback. It doesn't matter if I have 255+ positive feedbacks because anyone looking will only concentrate on that one negative feedback. All I could do was reply to the feedback so anyone looking would know that the package was fully insured and the buyer never made an effort to contact me.

If anyone wants to see it, here's the link to my feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ame=STRK:ME:UFS

I'm f***ing pissed.

That's one of the reasons I stay away from places like Ebay.

I don't think you are right about this killing your sales, buyers aren't going to ignore 255 or so positive transactions just because of 1 bad one. Most buyers are smart enough to realize that when numbers show like that it is usually because of a immature/irresponsible buyer acting harshly and quickly rather than the seller being a crook.

I just can't believe how irresponsible the buyer was, if an item is broken the first thing you do is contact the seller to try and get it resolved, especially when the package was insured for the full value of the item inside and was shipepd by a reputable company like FedEx! That's what really pisses me off!

f***

what larro said.

Thats how I got my first Neg. Feedback. The guy got the item crushed and left me Neg Feed. He didnt contact me or anything.. He wrote in the NEG Feedback something like "I contacted buyer several time" YES BS!

But its all good dude.. It hasnt hurt my sales at all man, 1 NEG feed isnt gonna kill you..

1 negative review ain't sh*t.

It's the percentage that matters and you're well over 99%. Settle down. It's one bad review.

I only order stuff with people 95% or higher and over 100 items sold, so... I don't see the big deal.

It wouldn't be a big deal to me and I wouldn't care as much, but i've got about 30+ things currently listed on eBay for sale and this stupid negative feedback could mean the difference between someone buying and not buying something.

highly unlikely.

and if a person is going to let one negative influence their purchase as opposed to the 250 + positives then they are truly stupid.

I only look at the percentage & number if the percentage is above 97 or so, I don't care, and even if I am suspicious I look at why they got them and their response.

overreact much?

i actually get suspicious when i see 100% feedback.

don't sweat it...negatives build character.

Some people on eBay have left me feedback and I haven't even sold anything there yet.

Being the good honest seller that I am, I immediately left him positive feedback as soon as I received the payment then about a week later he leaves me the BS negative. I should have waited until he left me feedback instead though to leave him feedback.

It's all part of my collection that i've accumulated over the years, i'm selling all of it off except for my Panthers and Marlins items because I need to save all the money I can.

Something similar happened to me. I have been on ebay for 6 years and have never gotten negative feedback. Then just last week I sold some flash cards. All the flash cards come in the same size box, so not all the boxes come full. The buyer then thought that cards are missing and left me negative feedback. So I went out of my way to send the cards out quickly and ended up with negative feedback. It sucks there isnt anything you can do, except respond to the negative feedback in your profile.

Admin is right, if the negative feedbacks start to pile up within the month or the next 6 months then u have to be concerned. but as for ur other feedbacks they look very positive so other ppl look at that too. that guy was just a dick head for saying that, u shipped it and u did the right thing that is not ur fault. ur also a E-bay power seller nice job on that.

I'm thinking of getting the document file your selling sometime soon. You only going to have it on there for 6 days? Let me know.

Sounds like the buyer is a douchebag who didn't make any effert to resolve it.

Like they say, one neg out of 200+ positives is no big deal.

But, if it still bothers you, you can seek to have feedback "mutually withdrawn"; especially if the buyer can be compensated like you say. Have you looked into that?

He wouldnt withdrawl it because Accord gave him positive... If he would have waited and gave the buyer NEG then most likely it would have been withdrawn... That happened to me once before...
