June 15, 200620 yr Its good to see DeAza's starting to pick it up, and Campusano still doing good. Anyone know if he's improved his fielding any? Hopefully they can get a shot for CF in the bigs sometime soon.

June 15, 200620 yr Author Wednesday's stars.... J.T. Restko broke up a perfect game with a single...he went 1-3, raising his average for the 3rd straight game. Sean West continues to dominate going 6.2 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, and 8 Ks. He is now (3-0) with a 1.25 ERA. Sick.... Anibal Sanchez had his best outing of the year going 6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 10 K's but again does not win. He remains (2-6) on the year. Finally, it looks like we have Bart Miadich again! He's back in AAA. Did we trade Tampa for him or pick him up off waivers? The guy went 1 IP tonight with 2 K's. He is a strikeout master. I have no question that he's better than Matt Herges right now!
June 15, 200620 yr It's too bad JB wasnt used in 2005. That 2.20era and 16.26k/9 was nice then again, I believe he got shelled in Japan
June 15, 200620 yr Author It's too bad JB wasnt used in 2005. That 2.20era and 16.26k/9 was nice then again, I believe he got shelled in Japan That's true... I didn't know his Japan stats...do you have them? Anyway, might as well give him another chance. He pitched decently for Durham (Tampa AAA) earlier this year going (0-6) 4.26 ERA...25.1 IP, 18 H, 25 BB, 30 Ks. Walks were high but K's were there again...

June 16, 200620 yr Author Thursday's stars.... Campusano returned from the DL. Todd Doolittle got his 4th win (4-0) and went 1.2 IP with 0 hits allowed and 2 K's. Why he hasn't been promoted yet with a 0.56 ERA is beyond me!
June 17, 200620 yr Author Friday's stars.... James Guerrero goes 3-4, RBI in Greensboro's 8-7 come from behind 10th inning win. More to come...
June 17, 200620 yr Author Friday's stars continued.... Jose Garcia is at it again....tonight he went 6.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 Ks....he got a no decision but has a 0.71 ERA in 2 AA starts.

June 17, 200620 yr Author This just in... Jose Garcia is good. :thumbup That article (section) comparing him to Pedro gives me goosebumps. I'll take half of Pedro. where is that article at dude? also he is the one we got in the red sox deal right? one of the throw ins? Nope, we got Jesus Delgado and Harvey Garcia in that deal (both doing really well). We've had Jose Garcia through free agency I believe. ................................................................................ After dominating high-A Jupiter for over 2 months, Marlins righthander Jose Garcia got the promotion to double-A Carolina. His first outing for the Mudcats was fantastic. He went 6 innings, gave up 5 hits and 1 run(unearned) while walking 3 and striking out 4 in the Mudcats win. Before the promotion earlier in the week, Garcia had been 6-2 with a 1.87era in 12 appearances for the Jupiter Hammerheads, 11 of them being starts. In his 77 innings, he struck out 69 while walking just 16 and giving up only 60 hits. In only his second season in America (his first 3 years were spent with the Dominican Summer League), Garcia has cemented himself as the next big Marlins pitching prospect. At just 21 years old, Jose was 13-11 with a 1.97era in 48 games in his professional career before this season. His fastball ranges from 90-93mph with it topping out at 95 occasionally. He has shown a solid changeup for his age level and talent level but it still needs improvement for it to be a ?plus? 2nd pitch. His 3rd pitch is a slider that if improved could someday be his most impressive pitch, but right now it?s not even a solid complementary one. Though some scouts believe he could be a devastating set-up man in the future, there is a small faction of scouts who believe Garcia reminds them of Pedro Martinez. In the same build as Pedro, the 5 foot 11 Garcia has an easygoing personality and teammates love him. Sounds alot like Pedro?. something I could get used to.
June 18, 200620 yr Author Saturday's Stars.... Edgar Gonzalez solo HR (6) Matt Kutler went 4-4 Jeff Van Houten hit a HR (14), 3 RBI (46)
June 19, 200620 yr Author Sunday's games.... Doolittle's ERA did inflate up to 0.92. Also, Eric Reed hit a solo HR...BA at .291 now. Pinto had a good outing going 6 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 5 K.....his win made him (5-2) with a 2.64 ERA.
June 20, 200620 yr Author Monday's stars.... Anibal Sanchez throws a complete game shutout! (9 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K) He now has a 3.15 ERA. Maybe he'll take over for Moehler later this year! Edgar Gonzalez homers in his 2nd straight game.
June 20, 200620 yr Anibal has been awsome his last few starts. I dont think we should trade this guy under any circumstances. Yea, I think he'll be that good. :thumbup
June 20, 200620 yr Anibal :drool . I agree with you WMM. I think Ani is going to take Moe's place later this year. Moe traded? Does anyone have a video of him pitching?
