Really sux too, I had real good left field seats too.... The game isn't canceled yet, but I am not holding my breath. Supposed to be around 45 tonight, cold, windy, and rain.. Bleah

...HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED INTO TONIGHT...

PERIODS OF RAIN ARE FORECAST THROUGH TONIGHT ACROSS OUR REGION, AND THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES BEGINNING THIS AFTERNOON. RAINFALL TOTALS THROUGH TONIGHT ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM ONE TO TWO INCHES NEAR THE COAST, AND FROM TWO TO THREE INCHES AT INLAND LOCATIONS.

BEING THAT IT HAS BEEN DRY FOR THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS, AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE RUNNING LOW AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE MUCH OF THE RUNOFF ALTHOUGH WITHIN BANK RISES ARE LIKELY.

THE RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT RISES ON SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS, AND MAY CAUSE SOME FLOODING OF THE MOST FLOOD PRONE WATERWAYS. SOME FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS ALSO IS LIKELY.

THE HEAVY RAIN IS ANTICIPATED TO END BY LATE TONIGHT OR EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. HOWEVER, SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO LINGER INTO SUNDAY.

A COMPLEX FRONTAL SYSTEM TIED TO AN UPPER LEVEL AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL APPROACH AND THEN MOVE ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE SYSTEM AND THE FACT THAT IT WILL BE ABLE TO TAP MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE THE HEAVY RAIN.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS DEVELOPING SITUATION.

Phillies-Marlins rained out tonight

Day-night doubleheader set for July 30

Rain forced postponement of tonight's 7:05 game between the Florida Marlins and Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

The game has been rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on Sunday, July 30. Game time will be 7:35 p.m. The regularly-scheduled afternoon game on that date will begin at 1:35 p.m.

Tickets dated April 22 will be honored for the 7:35 p.m. game on July 30. Or, they may be exchanged for any other Phillies game this season, subject to availability.

This weekend's series with the Marlins will conclude at 1:35 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday, April 23). RHP Brett Myers (1-0, 3.06 ERA) will start for the Phillies; RHP Sergio Mitre (1-1, 4.08 ERA) is tentatively scheduled for the Marlins.

If you care about how many games the Marlins win this year(Admin Beinfest doesn't, he's said, "What's the difference if we lose 105 or 95?") then this is a good thing for the Marlins. I expect they'll be playing their best ball in May-June-July...before they collapse in August-September.
