April 26, 200620 yr I know he is liked or loved but this can be the offical Barry Bonds Thread, since I haven't seen it yet, on the site. Bonds now is just 40 HR shy of Henry "Hank" Aaron. So lets keep track and see what peeps on the board have to say Updated 5/28/06
April 27, 200620 yr He's doing this on two bad knees and a jacked up elbow. GOAT. /discussion Sounds like Mickey Mantle almost.. except instead of roids, Mantle used the power of alcohol to do better.
April 27, 200620 yr All 3 of his HR's have been opposite field which means one of two things... Barry can't get around anymore or Everyone is pitching Barry away
April 27, 200620 yr All 3 of his HR's have been opposite field which means one of two things... Barry can't get around anymore or Everyone is pitching Barry away He can't get around on the pitches, I agree. His knee can't handle it anymore. Little doubt he will get 4 more though.
April 27, 200620 yr The Wagner one was a pitch that if you get around on, you're just grounding out. He took what he had to hit and hit it hard.
May 2, 200620 yr Author SAN FRANCISCO … (AP) … Barry Bonds moved within two home runs of tying Babe Ruth on baseball's career list, connecting for No. 712 Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Bonds homered to straightaway center field off Scott Linebrink with two outs and nobody on in the eighth inning. Linebrink became the 419th pitcher Bonds has homered against … the slugger has 82 against the Padres, his most against any opponent. Bonds' fourth home run of the season came on the final game of the Giants' five-game homestand. San Francisco starts a five-game road trip to Milwaukee and Philadelphia on Wednesday, during which Bonds could pass Ruth's mark of 714 and move into second place. Hank Aaron, who played much of his career in Milwaukee, holds the all-time record with 755 home runs.
May 2, 200620 yr watch him just go on a freakin tear I hope so. :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy
May 3, 200620 yr each of his homers are worthy their own thread because they're a part of history...it's more newsworthy than anything else that happens in baseball this year He hit 712 to straightaway center, somewhere around 450 feet...bounced off the top of the centerfield concession stands and into the concession area...my friend was over there because his daughter had to go to the bathroom and he wound up with the ball...how lucky is that? Anyways, I can't wait until he hits 714 and 715 so I can laugh at all the haters...hopefully he hits just one on this road trip so i can be there when he passes Ruth...he definitely deserves the record for what he's had to endure G.O.A.T.
May 3, 200620 yr Barry has gone deep again, any thoughts to how many games it'll take for him to break the Babe's record?
May 3, 200620 yr This isn't a mess, it's asking a prediction on when everyone thinks it'll happen, the big bang to tie, and the big bang to break the record.
May 3, 200620 yr This isn't a mess, it's asking a prediction on when everyone thinks it'll happen, the big bang to tie, and the big bang to break the record. No, these threads are a mess.. We have one legitimite Barry Bonds thread.
May 3, 200620 yr hopefully he hits one on this road trip and then hits 714 and 715 monday wishful thinking huh? He can probably do it.
