Superman Returns

DC's logo screen during the opening credits compared to Marvel's flipping pages logo.

Hmmmmm...

I like them both and they're REALLY similar...

I'll go with DC because it used Jim Lee art to subliminally pass by.

Warner Bros. Pictures has decided to fly Superman Returns into theaters two days sooner than planned ? Wednesday, June 28 ? effectively giving the potential blockbuster a seven-day, Fourth of July opening weekend.

YES! I was going to miss it because I'm out the 30th

Ugh.

I will be there, thank you for the update.

Just bought my 4 tickets to the first show of Superman Returns 3D at IMAX. June 27th, 10:30 PM.

Can't wait! Kept seeing those damn TV spots popping up, so I had to buy tickets. :D

Just went to IMAX today (Deep Sea 3D) and saw that they are showing it at the Ft Lauderdale location starting June 28th!

I am going to preorder the tickets in a couple of days.

FYI--I hadn't been to an IMAX theater in like 10 years...The screen is GINORMOUS. Superman on that screen will look AMAZING.

I suggest everyone in the Ft Lauderdale area to go.

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyone else going to see Superman Returns at the IMAX in 3D? I believe various parts (up to 30 minutes) are 3 dimensional, which I am looking forward to. I already got advanced tickets to the IMAX in Ft Lauderdale for Friday, June 30th at the early evening show.

I know it's only a short amount of time (I did a lot of research on it before buying the 12 dollars tickets).

But that coupled with the huge screen and huge hype on the movie will make it a great experience. I am going to arrive like 1.5 hours early.

I will be absolutely floored if Supes can come that close to Batman Begins.

I don't expect it to, and that is not saying it won't be good.

Well, my friend said it probably falls behind Batman, but it's pretty close. She said the reason he leaves Earth for 5 years is kind glossed over/lame, but it's a real strong flick.

omg YOU RUINED IT!

Lex Luthor won't suck with this guy at the helm:

The only other one I'd like to see as a villian would be John Malkovich. He's soooooo creepy. He keeps you guessing.

I love him.

Anyone going to a 10 o'clock showing tonight? Alot of the local theatres here are having showings then.

I thought I'd be catching this tommorrow but I'm not going to miss any of the Mets-Sox series so it looks like I'll have to wait until Saturday.

I know some people going, and ya I expect it to be very packed.

I'm going on Friday night, and I really have no idea how crowded the IMAX usually is when they show movies.

The IMAX I'm going to tonight (1030 PM) is already sold out. And the two primetime shows are sold out tomorrow as well. If you're going passed 6 PM on Friday expect to be in a 100% full theater.

YOU MUST ARRIVE 30-40 MINUTES EARLY ON FRIDAY, JEWCUBED. Or else you'll end up in the first 8 rows and it will be a pretty terrible experience. You want to go about 7 rows from the top in the middle of the theater, that is ideal. Lower than that and your going to be looking back and forth across the screen all movie long.

Remember though, ARRIVE PLENTY EARLY!

C+/B-

I'll give you a better review and tell you why I thought it was a C+/B- later on tonight or tomorrow.
