May 28, 200620 yr i dont agree on the delgado deal. while Jacobs isnt looking like he did last year... isnt hitting as many HRs as expected and doesnt have much of a BA... he has 28 RBIs... thats only 5 less than Delgado. he's comming through when it matters. and Petit has looked great so far, and he will just get better.

Beckett has been among the best pitchers in MLB, and is making peanuts compared to the rest of the Sawks. He is young, and is putting up amazing numbers in the AL. He will only get better. You could say that the Marlins did as well as they could in the trade (getting back great prospects, shedding bad contracts, etc.), but Boston has won this one is a landside. The only trade that has been in our favor (as of "now") is the Pierre deal. Even though I loathe Ron Villone, we sure could have used him this year.

Even IF Boston was told these pitchers would "pan out," Boston does this deal 10 out of 10 times. living in massachusetts and driving by portland's stadium last where the sox AA team plays...hanley ramirez was the most highly touted prospect boston has had since i moved to massachusetts in 89...when analyzing their farm system the past few years it was han ram and everyone else...trust me...this is a trade that works out great for both teams which is why...in my opinion, there is no clear winner in this trade...sometimes you just need to give credit to the Gm's and say they did their homework and improved their teams

Remember, apart from last year's post 9/1 call up, he's never been above AA. With a sesaon at McCoy under his belt, Hanley would have been our SS in '07...
