June 23, 200620 yr conine:.228 5HR 18 RBI abercrombie: .223 3 HR 14 RBI i go with reggie ...he has a future-(hopefully). i don't see how conine can contribute to this team.. i love niner, and his restaurant, but reggie is younger and has more potential.
June 23, 200620 yr Umm.. Conine because Niner has proven to us he can hit. We are still waiting for Reggie to prove to us he can hit consistantly.
June 23, 200620 yr Reggie. Reggie is still young and can improve, and he has speed and plays decent defense. Conine, at this point in his career, really doesn't do anything that well and it is highly doubtful he will improve. When 2 players are putting up similar numbers, give me the one that is 14 years younger.
June 23, 200620 yr Let me preface this by saying that I dont think we should trade for Conine. We dont need a LF right now. We also dont need a fundamentally deprived baseball player such as Reggie either Reggie, I love ya dude but your not ready. You routinely make extremely poor defensive decisions and you have the plate discipline of Sea Bass. Conine over Reggie is a NO-BRAINER. I dont need to defend Jeff Conine.
June 23, 200620 yr It's like asking if you prefer the gas chamber or the electric chair. To steal one of your phrases: lololololol Pretty much feel the same. If I had to pick, I'd go with Reggie and even then it's not even close
June 23, 200620 yr I respect Conine. I'm insulted by the way he ended his tenure here, but whatever on that. Thing is, neither are producing, but Reggie can play center and steal bases (even if he isn't the strongest at 'running' them).

Conine, at this point in his career, really doesn't do anything that well and it is highly doubtful he will improve. When 2 players are putting up similar numbers, give me the one that is 14 years younger. Conine, I'd have a more difficult choice choosing between Reggie and Herpes. Reggie is a never was and never will. At least Jeff would at least be a has-been.
June 24, 200620 yr Conine: Had the third best season of his career at the plate with a .303 batting average. Reggie: Steadily gets worse, not better.
June 24, 200620 yr " but reggie is younger and has more potential." I agree with part one, but what is his potential? A struggling young player who with potential still shows the ability to swing where the ball is. Reggie just swings and sometimes the ball runs into the bat. STill, no place for Conine here, Helms probably would not be here if Niner signed on and Helms is so much more versatile.
