Our team battled back but came up JUST short...

Featured Replies

Despite the awful early inning, you gotta give them credit. Our team did not quit, and battled their way back to within one. I think the awe and excitement of playing the Yankees at Yankee Stadium got to them early; but it's worn off by now, for sure. I expect a much better performance tonight.

Toojay's on the mound, against Chac?n; and, hopefully Cooley back on the lineup... this game should be a fun one. GO FISH!

So the server ent down, I was blaming my crappy computer. Darm if only Ross got that hit. But yeah nice effort for a rookie team that face a pitcher that once threw up to a 109 fastball!!!! Even broke the catcher mask.

I saw a 109 fastball in the screen. I'll assume it was just a mistake but at the beggining of the 8th. Yankee pitcher was throwing 98 mph, when he got the 1st out, his speed increase to 99, then when Ross came up in the 8th with 2 runners on yankee leading 6-5, he was throwing 100-101mph.

Yeah, it may have caught the bat if he swung at that pitch that was '109 mph'..

I agree with you there Beetle. This team never gave up. I expect a good game today for the Fish :thumbup . Go Marlins.

Just to add something Hanley got 3 hits :D . Thats my boy.

Its not scientifically possible to throw more than 100-101 mph. That has been proven,

I find that hard to prove. Though 109 is not realistic. I've seen 102 mph, but no faster.

There was a high school pitcher in 2001 drafted by Kansas City in the first round...COLT GRIFFITH.....he threw 104 in high school.....

Thats all you can ask from your team to never give up no matter what. :p

Colt Griffith...overpowering fastball but after being drafted lost anything resembling control.

Is he still in the minors?

i remember hearing about a guy on xm radio who played back in ted williams day...he threw 120 and they wanted ted williams to try to hit off him...williams took one look and said no...sighting if he got in the head, his career if not life would be done
